Blue Jackets Honor Founder With Logo

The Columbus Blue Jackets have unveiled a new logo to be used this season to honor the memory of their founder John H. McConnell. It was announced on the team's official web site yesterday.
The link to the story about the new logo wasn't working for me, but this is it if you want to give it a shot.

Nice ! Really classy logo !
I agree, looks nicer than the one Chicago had last year.
I can't believe I'm passing judgment on tribute logos though...
Yeah, it's a really nice logo. Perfect font, not too over-the-top, just nice enough to be a great patch.
On a more serious note, unfortunate to hear of this. A quick Google search provided an NY Times article that indicates that he passed on April 25, 2008. Four months later, this is the first I've heard of it. It's disappointing, from a hockey fan's perspective, that the man was never able to see his team compete in a postseason game. If the Jackets can make it there this year, it'll truly be an inspirational story.
Simple and clean. I think the CBJ staff are finally getting the hang of the graphics thing because the logos seem to keep getting better.
How sad is it that I think that's the best logo in Blue Jackets history?
Jerm, you took the words right out of my mouth. This is the first time the Jackets have put together something un-embarrassing.
