Sabres Tease Third
11 Comments Wednesday · Sep 3 · 2008 | 10:24 AM PDT
The splash page for the Buffalo Sabres' official web site has what appears to be a new third jersey teaser on an ad promoting the sale of preseason tickets.
It's a close-up of a blue jersey with a yellow collar. There are laces and a silver section at the neck with the NHL shield. Here's the image appearing on the web site.
Remember, they will officially unveil the new third jersey two weeks from Saturday.
Thanks to everybody who sent in this info. And seriously, there were a lot of you. I appreciate that.

my wish has come true!!!! I am so buying one now!!!
Well...hopefully here comes the backlash to get this logo back on Sabres center ice.
I figured you saw this about 80 times before you got my email!
I figured Charlie might have been on it, but I just wanted to make sure, Chris.
what ever happened to wallpaper wednesdays?
Lol, I sent it, too.
I do know that I was first to post it on a certain Sabres' forum.
As I said there, if these look like I think they will, I could definitely see them making a switch to these and a slightly modified (navy, not royal blue, plus silver accents) Winter Classic jersey in a year or two. They'll probably wait until they feel they truly have a SC contender (probably '09-'10), though, to really capitalize on the switch like they did in '06-'07.
Wow, it's actually coming true...
Cross those fingers folks. This is the first step in banishing the slug out to sea alongside the Gorton's Fisherman. I sincerely hope you all buy one. I know I will.
I know that, along with my Sabres, Not Slugs compadres, that this is the great hope for all slug-haters.
Drew, not only am I buying one for me, but for my boy as well
I know this has nothing to do with this post, but when can we expect the Blues rebrand?
I am very happy for true-blue Sabres fans and hockey fans. From what I'm seeing on this site and on the Sabres website, Buffalo's third sweaters should look extremely sharp. While I can do without the silver accents, the silver should be unnoticeable from far away. This is a long-time coming for Buffalo fans and I hope they finally get what they want and deserve. Now, if only my Vancouver Canucks can get rid of the orca and get either the original Stick 'n Rink or the Johnny Canuck V on the front.
Doh, I looked at that page 3 or 4 times today and it didn't register.
