NHL 09 Code Released
Tuesday · Dec 9 · 2008 | 8:32 PM PSTA lot of folks have been asking about this and I said I'd post it when it was released. Below is the code that will enable all 18 third jerseys for EA Sports' NHL 09 video game.

Along with the code, EA released the following statement.
Please note that if you have the code and play online with someone who does not have the code, there is a chance you may both be playing with dark jerseys as users without the code will not be able to see the alternate jerseys. This will be rectified next week when the team releases the planned roster update which will automatically insert the code for those that have not yet entered it.
In addition, a couple of readers pointed out the inaccuracy of the Sabres' third jersey in the game. Here's a screenshot.
It's pretty clear the design is wrong (the silver piping on the sides is missing) and the number style isn't correct. But it's close, and frankly, it looks better this way.
By the way, got my Lightning third jersey delivered today. I love it! I'll be wearing it to the Bolts-Avs game next week.

Here's the code, but you won't need it next week. Why not just release the roster update and let everyone get a little surprise. I guess I should actually get the game before I start to complain about EA's craziness.
I ran straight to my PS3 when I found this out. Awesome! Already played with the Bruins like 10 times.

the logo on the sabres jersey doesnt have the silver outlining in the game

i cant believe they could screw up the sabres jerseys...the ones i was waiting for...they also screwed up with the bolts jerseys too...hopefully these will be fixed in another patch or something...i can hope
the socks are also very screwed up. they don't match the striping, or at least don't have only one iteration of that.
they just really didn't try on this one, it looks like they had the silver additions to the stripes (possibly, it's hard to tell even that) and then did nothing more
for shame...but it DOES look better...

with the sabres and now the lightning, i can confidently say, and i think most would agree with me, that hockey jerseys look better without piping. if it didn't say BOLTS, that'd be a darn good jersey
the Sabres jerseys do in fact include the silver piping. it is not visible very well, if at all, on the far away shots. i had the same thoughts that you all had about the jersey but when they zoomed in on Patrick Lalime during a break in play, it is very visible and plain to see the silver piping. everyone check it out, and when they show clips between whistles dont hit A so fast and u can see it. just want to add i love the ice bowl jerseys
scratch my last post, i thought u guys were talking about the silver piping outlining the yellow. but yes u are correct the piping down the sleeve is missing, my mistake
im a big fan of the bolts new jerseys and think they look awful with the silver missing in the game, these were the jersey's i was most looking forward to and they arent even right

Also think about it. The bolts and sabres are both missing piping or sripes on the sides. maybe that was hard for ea. Knowing them they will patch it though. They did a lot of patching last month.

I find it funny that they were so hush hush about the code this time because it helped leak all of the jerseys early last year and the jerseys leaked this year and the code didnt....

I am finally going to put this code on my Xbox! Third jersey heaven here I come! (even if some of them are inaccurate like Buffalo's and Tampa's) On a side note, I agree with the other comments about waiting patiently for a patch to come out....

i agree that the sabres 3rd does look better like this.... but thats not the point... its still wrong and its aggrivating.
jeremy...your right...i think it looks fine w/the piping though...also, it wouldnt be so bad if they at least got the number font right....and maybe the silver in the logo...i mean even if it does look better...its not what they wear and its annoying...hopefully a patch to fix
Just my opinion but the sabres jersey looks alot better without the piping. Classier even. Like 06-07 season. Those 3rd jerseys were SICK!

On the other hand though, EA royally pissed me off this year due to their piss poor NHL 2009 release for PC that's just 2006, 2007 and 2008 revised with the new lineups for this season and a couple other minor options.
The Be-A-Player mode is non-existent on the PC which is bullshit. They've cheated all PC gamers out of the version they're released for all other formats, and as a result, I'll be downloading NHL 2010 because they didn't deserve my money for the game this year.
From what I've heard (haven't tested) the Isles 3rd jersey is wrong as well. I've been told that they put orange numbers with white outlines, when the actual jersey has white numbers with orange outlines.
they sure did mess that up. And also the canes are wearing red gloves when really with their alternates they wear black gloves
I'll be at the Blolts/AVS game also...I live in Wisconsin, but my ol' man an I will be down in Florida to see the Avs play the Blots, then heading over to Miami to see the Avs play the Panthers...maybe i'll run into ya...i'll probably be wearin my old Avalanche third jersey of Peter Forsberg
they got the Islanders 3rd wrong too...the numbers are orange but theyre supposed to be white,as well as the names on the jerseys...ea/rbk didnt too good a job with these jerseys especially for the fact that we waited 4 months for it...
Ok guys really. I know its irritating but come on. Be happy they took the time to make a code for us to use the jerseys this year. They could of easily made us wait for NHL 2010 to see them in game. So just be happy with what you got. I'm sure they will patch things. They are usually good about tiny mishaps like that.
it doesnt really bother me that much.what does bother me is that there are this many noticable mistakes when they made us wait this long for them.if they did it at the beginning of the season i could see,but in december,3 weeks after all the jerseys have been seen?no reason for this many mistakes.
About ******* time! I started to lose interest in the game because I was missing out on a part $60 US was dished out on!

i noticed that the font style of the numbers on the sabres white winter classic jersey is wrong too...i can understand ea screwing up rosters every now and then, but screwing up this many jerseys after making everyone wait this long is ridiculous...

I mean ive loved it since it came out but i just wanted to say that again.
Now, I've had cause to rip on EA on many occasions, NHL 07's horribly soft goals, the entire Madden series etc. but I feel they need defending here. From what I've read, it has been noted that there are inaccuracies, but this is because the teams themselves tweaked the designs after sending information to EA, and really, the designers can only go on the information they're given. Since these alternates are on the retail disc, I highly doubt they'll be patched in anyway, as there's nothing wrong with them, they're just based on earlier concepts.
Compared to other problems this game has, the jerseys being a little off are not that big of a deal.
