AJHL Logo Map

View AJHL Map in a larger map

Today we're featuring the Albert Junior Hockey League's logo map. That may seem random, but actually there's a good reason for it. Starting tomorrow, we'll begin the AJHL mini-tournament of logos.

The league has 16 teams, one of which you'll have to scroll way up for on the map. The Fort McMurray Oil Barons must have lots of long bus rides to endure. And one other note on this map, the Lloydminster Bobcats don't actually play in Alberta — their arena is in Saskatchewan!

So why an AJHL tournament? Okay, I don't have a reason for that. That was pretty much just random. But at some point we'll be getting to all of the junior leagues. Some of them have pretty awesome logos. Of course some do not.

Anyway, enjoy the AJHL map. What league should we do next? I'm thinking the Central Hockey League, which recently merged with the IHL. If you have suggestions, the comment box is just below.

Good catch, etown. Don't know how I missed them. Just added the logo to the map. Though you'll have to scroll way northwest to find them.

love it

I think we missed the top junior league in the States, the USHL. Then cause I officiate in the league, maybe the WSHL it has teams in Texas, Colorado, Idaho, California, & Arizona.

I've always found it funny that Lloydminster is in the AJHL as the city is in both Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Uhmmm OK, I see that you're doing Junior "A" logos again in some capacity, please give me an email (if you see it) because I have some recent BCHL stuff from last year when I did a project for the NHL series. I also have some other stuff if you are interested Chris....

whew, being an Albertan, I all of a sudden fell all warm and fuzzy inside. Why are we so important to the Hockey world?

I am really enjoying this map series and couldnt be more pumped that you featured the AJHL as i live in Fort Mcmurray and quite enjoy watching the Oil Barons play.

If you're taking suggestions, how about the USHL and the NAHL?

Or, better yet, how about some college hockey maps? Both officially-sanctioned NCAA teams and ACHA club teams? Though, be forewarned.... in it's five divisions, the ACHA has over 300 teams..... so ya might want to aim for individual conferences, like the much more manageable 7-member CSCHL.

AIHL. Australian Ice Hockey League. Just for something different.

Uhhh the AJHL gets a logo tourney before the USHL and NCAA hockey?????? Seriously?

Jul 26 · 8:41 AM PDT | Unregistered CommenterKoho

Sure, why not? I wanted to do a more obscure league for this mini-tournament so that fewer voters go into the polls with their minds already made up. USHL is on the list. We'll do it soon. NCAA — don't count on it. It's not really hockey-specific if you ask me. It's just voting on school logos. Maybe someday, but we have a lot of actual hockey leagues to do first.

Love the AJHL. But, the Kodiaks play at the Edgeworth Centre now, not the Max anymore :)

CJHL in Ontario.

Jul 26 · 11:39 AM PDT | Unregistered CommenterBrett Noiles

^^^ I second the CJHL.

Jul 26 · 12:36 PM PDT | Unregistered Commenterknox3

If we're doing the AJHL now, we should be doing the other CJHL leagues - it's an entity similar to the Canadian Hockey League. There's the BCHL, SJHL, MJHL, SIJHL, NOJHL, OJHL, CHL, LHJAAAQ, and MHL.

MHL? The east coast of Canada doesn't get a lot of attention so it'd be awesome if you featured that league. It'd probably make the papers here lol.

The AJHL is where it's at! I'll be voting Bandits!

Oh, sorry Chris, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean doing a tournament with school logos, I just meant maybe a logo map with them. Sorry, wasn't being clear.

Next map: PIJHL "Pacific International Junior Hockey League"- in British Columbia.

Or: BCHL "British Columbia Hockey League"

How about the Central Hockey League next followed by the USHL and the NAHL? The NAHL would be really interesting for people to see due to the distances between some of the teams.
