Jacob Barrette: Round 2
You may not know his name, but you know his work. Jacob Barrette was the force behind the new Ottawa Senators' Heritage third jersey. His design from a few years ago started a movement that culminated in meetings with the team and, ultimately, being credited with helping to develop the new, retro look.
Now he's announced his hope for lightning to strike twice. Barrette is launching a new concept he hopes will reach fans the same as his last effort and result in a new NHL uniform in the near future. The design itself will be unveiled right here at Icethetics.info on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

As a Whalers fan I hope it's them. However, realistically I'm going with either the Jets design. Guessing purely on the fact the teasers are in navy and red and because of the wording.
Well it cant really be the Nordiques because "he wants it to result in another NHL uniform in the NEAR future. I really think its the jets, any other one doesnt really make sense
Please let it be the "Snooki-orage" islander/fisherman! Or the Mighty Duck "mask" logo that would be awesome too...
To announce the bring back of a whole team like the Nordiques would be quite impressive, but I think more unlikely...
Red and Blue together really look like Lady Liberty from the Rangers, but she is no "it"...
But I tend to a retro third for the Jets now as well ;)
simple it is the rangers or jets. maybe the nords. or fishticks. please! that logo is awesome but the striping was tacky. or maybe the kings BURGER KING DESIGN!

Based on the facts that he designed the Ottawa Jersey, The All-Star Game is in Ottawa, and that the two colors he used were the two colors of the jerseys from last year's ASG, I would say that he is referring to the two All-Star Jerseys for this year.
You guys see the shoulder patch on the Anaheim 3rd? They were brought back. Let your imagination run wild......
There's no way it isn't the Jets. They (THEM) finally came back to the league, a lot of people were a little disappointed that there wasn't really any red (IT) on the jerseys.
Don't see how it could not be Jets related now...
Personally, I hope it is not a liberty liberty concept. The Rangers' current 3rd design is 1. Actually a good design and 2. Has been well-received by the fans. All signs pointing to Winnipeg.
My guess is a new concept post. amiright?!
Hoping for a Hurricanes retro look with the Whalers logo, or a new Lady Liberty jersey. I can't tell if the first teaser is in dark blue or black, so both are possibilities. Probably the Jets though. Could be Pittsburgh too, because they're a good team with good fans and history, and they have bad jerseys IMO.

Others have mentioned it, and I'd bet money it's a Jets (THEM) third sweater in red (IT). It seems like a number of people are miffed that the new Jets have minimized red in their palette, and the emphasis on "them" (indicating the "true" Jets) and the emphasis on "it" (in a sentence printed in red, no less) leads me to believe that we'll see just that from Mr. Barrette.
This makes me think he's collaborating further with the Senators... we weren't gonna bring THEM back (referring to the black heritage colours) without bringing IT back (the sens' original 2d Senhead logo? )
I always thought the 3quarter Senhead was weaker.
I think thats what the black colouring on the first teaser vs. the red second are hinting at anyway: the black throwback and a new red home.
But we'll see tomorrow so thinking too much about it is kind of pointless, haha

The more I think of it, I am now more convinced its the old timers game at this years All Star game. The "them" is the players and the "It" is the game itself...
I am going to guess the Winnipeg Jets, but am absolutely hoping for the Islanders fish sticks jersey.

You have a point, but if I may conjecture that as a Canadian, he might be hopeful that a team (PHO, NYI for example) may relocate to Quebec or Hartford and result in a need for new NHL sweaters.
It's the NHL 12 font, so bringing "them" in the plural means the legends, so "it" must elude to something legendary. I'm thinking some old-school retro jersey based on Jacob's previous work. Maybe LA Kings gold jerseys, Oilers orange jerseys ... ?
The Flying V was the best jersey ever. The Nord's jerseys were also great. Please let it be one of those two.
