Jacob Barrette: Round 2
You may not know his name, but you know his work. Jacob Barrette was the force behind the new Ottawa Senators' Heritage third jersey. His design from a few years ago started a movement that culminated in meetings with the team and, ultimately, being credited with helping to develop the new, retro look.
Now he's announced his hope for lightning to strike twice. Barrette is launching a new concept he hopes will reach fans the same as his last effort and result in a new NHL uniform in the near future. The design itself will be unveiled right here at Icethetics.info on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

The way the word "them" is exaggerated, something tells me it could be the old Mighty Ducks jersey with the duck breaking through the ice.

I know it probably isn't my Dallas Stars, but once they get purchased out of bankruptcy I hope new jerseys are high on the list (after adding another top 6 forward).

A terrific update. Certainly gets the people going. It could be the Jets, be who really know? I guess we will have to wait and find out.
Or maybe it's the Lightening. Like Chris said, "his hope is for LIGHTENING to strike twice." It could actually be a number of teams, but please god...NO VINTAGE WHITE!
I'm guessing Islanders... "THEM" referring to Fishsticks. Excited to see what Mr. Barrette comes up with this time.
Hopefully a new Devils jersey, but no he would have to wait till Lou's gone to pull that off. I would love to see someone hint hint do a design with that Devil guy that is in the Lowell Devils logo. It comes up on some Devils apparel but it is a real cool logo. You can probably make a real nice Devils alternate with a Silver/Red/Black coloring with a Devil on the front.

I'm betting on the Mighty Ducks. I can't think of anything else worth bringing back right now.

Probably the Mighty Ducks' Wild Wing jersey. Funny feeling. Though the Jets are a possiblity as is fish-sticks for the Isles. Perhaps the Canucks' spacesuits? Or maybe the mooterus for Dallas?
The Predators' old third jersey? the words are in blue, and they said they were getting rid of them. It could also be one of the Panthers' blue jerseys. Just looking into the color of the words more than anything.
It really seems like it will be the Jets, when you consider that the NHL wasn't going to bring a team back, and then the ownership wasn't going to bring the name back...
If he's referring to the Pens 91' jerseys, I'll love him. If not, I hope he comes up with something original. It'd be hard to top the Sens jersey.
Whatever it is I'm glad there's someone working on making the NHL look better. That said, I hope it's the Penguins. Or maybe something to fix the Sens regular home and road uniforms.

I'm thinking Florida. Their front office kept saying how they didn't want to bring them back.
I think it's going to be a defunct Canadian NHL team. My gut tells me it's either the Nordiques or the Hamilton Tigers.

Something gross that's getting a revisit
Islanders fishsticks, Ducks Wild wing, Canucks Flying Vees and Stars Mooterus are just a few potential ones.
Jacob is Canadian and I think he sticks to his roots. My guess is he has something for the Canadiens. My runner-up choice is Vancouver with their old colors. The Oilers and Flames already went retro for their primary jerseys and the Jets might be too obvious of a choice (that and Winnipeg doesn't seem to want anything to do with their old looks). Toronto hasn't changed much over many years and just ditched a very retro look from last year as the alternate. One other [unintentional] clue is he used a navy color for the words in the pic...or it could be coincidence. My money is on 1) Montreal, 2) Vancouver

We're given very little to go off of here, but I've come up with my 6 possibilities:
Anaheim Ducks - return to a Mighty Ducks era uniform
Buffalo Sabres - maybe the Buffaslugs, but better executed
Carolina Hurricanes - a jersey that pays homage to the Whalers
New York Rangers - possibly an updated Lady Liberty jersey
Pittsburgh Penguins - could be based off a number of eras (preferably 91-92 set)
Winnipeg Jets - seems the most obvious, with possibly a slight tweak to the 90-96 uniforms
I also have to partly agree with SiouxJersey, as my original thought coming in was that he would do a Canadian team, but I still think it will be a Jets jersey.
Phoenix Coyotes original Logo and Jersey design... very underrated.
Well if its for something soon, and Ottawa-ish related? Old school NHL All Star Jerseys??
I agree with Danny R. It's Jets' 3rd jersey for obvious reasons: The Jets weren't coming back, yet they are in WIN now and they have no plan for a 3rd jersey for this season.
Let it be the 3rd or a Nordiques concept!

I would guess the Whalers with Pucky, the Canucks colors with the V, or the Nordiques with the Fleur-de-lis or husky? The Jets have been designed a lot lately, dissuading me from that.
