IceHL JDC: Hartford Mariners

Time to pick jerseys! Choose up to 4 of your favorite Hartford Mariners jersey designs. All 15 sets are listed in random order; the VOTE button is at the bottom of the page. The jersey set that collects the most votes wins.

Results will be revealed after voting closes and will remain hidden until that time. (Notes: The 3-letter codes are meant to help distinguish each design and keep anonymity of designers. Also, don't worry if a design lacks polish. If necessary, the winning design will be cleaned up before it's declared "official.")

Choose up to 4 jersey sets. Click on images to enlarge. Voting ends September 5.

The comments will be open to allow for discussion of the merits of each design. All I ask it that you keep it civil. Attacks will not be tolerated. That's all. Happy voting!

Not all submissions are included in voting. Those that did not meet the set requirements have been discarded. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

The Northwest Narwhals jersey designs will be posted on Wednesday. The winning designs for our expansion teams will be unveiled in the IceHL 2012 Yearbook, due out in September.

Big fan of the MAC one; I wonder if it would look as good in real life on the ice as it does in my mind.

HAX's submission is probably my favourite in this whole competition. Not because it's the strongest design, but because it suits the team so well, it's not over the top, and it's so original. About my own set, I just wanted to sneak in that I intended to make the striping on the jersey look like an 'M' when the arms are down.

I really like both HAX and MAC; the stripes of MAC give it an old-school look which is very different from the other jerseys in the IceHL. This is especially important given how similar the palette is to the Boston Colonials. The other design that I really like and could see myself wearing in real-life is DKI. For all that, it's really hard to choose between these designs; they're all fantastic.

Like NAJ, I want to point out that my jersey's striping is supposed to look like an 'M' when the arms are down, and I also want to say that I used the Whalers' jersey font as a tribute to them. But everything I said doesn't really matter because there's no way my design deserves to win this, there are ALOT of great designs in this batch!

thanks for the kind words guys, you already picked up on some of the reasons I designed the jerseys this way. I did want to create an old-school look, snd bring really unique look to the icehl. Most of the other uniforms in the IceHL are faily modern looking so and oldschool jersey would really stick out. I also wanted to create jerseys that looked like they belong to Mariners. These sweaters are my interpretation of striped sailor's shirts.

I usually submit some wild striped jerseys, but I couldn't get into it this time (maybe because it's the middle of summer). I was leaning toward some large trident logo, like the old Flying V jerseys of the Canncks. I had nothing creative for the Narwhals.
DKI's blue jersey look like the old Buffalo ones - and that's not a bad look. I can see the Sabres logo on both versions. SCB looks good at first, but after a while it goes between those minor league Christmas wrapped jerseys and a crossing guard.
The winner, for me, is VED. The white has a clean, San Diego Chargers vibe to it. The navy with white has a great look. And they are two different designs. Love it.

My personal favourite was SPN just because it stood out as different. The soccer/rugby style sweater grabbed my attention. That being said, I thought they were all very very good in their own right. A couple of my other favourites had to be NAJ, LNS and ANB. Nicely done everyone.
