The Unveiling
Monday, September 17. The Sharks unveiled their jerseys almost two months after unveiling their new logo. Pictures were released via their official web site.

Home vs. Road
Home: Teal. Road: White. The two sweaters are essentially mirror images of each other and both feature secondary logo patches on the shoulders.

The teal home jerseys feature a black shoulder yoke with white trim. White-orange-black-orange-white stripes wrap around the elbows and waist. The collar is white, with orange-black trim inside and the primary logo serves as the crest.

The white road jerseys feature a teal shoulder yoke with black trim. Black-orange-teal-orange-black stripes wrap around the elbows and waist. The collar is black, with orange-teal trim inside and the primary logo serves as the crest.

In The Details
The shoulder patches feature a full-bodied version of the shark featured in the primary logo sans the triangle. A new, more traditional numbering and lettering style has been introduced.

New & Old
Not only was a new logo introduced, but sweeping changes were made to the uniforms. They are almost completely different from the old sweaters.

Standard FAQ
Numbers on the front? Yes.
Laces at the collar? No.

NHLToL Editorial by Chris
In a shocking twist, the Sharks ended up with one of the most traditional-looking sweaters of the new crop. I say that in reference to the striping and not the new-fangled sweater numbers on the front of the jersey — which I happen to like. I know, hang me now. Anyway, this isn't to say I wasn't a fan of the old jerseys. The Sharks have definitely been among the best-looking teams on the ice over the last decade, but numbers and especially names were often illegible on those sweaters. That's been rectified here. And the rust-flavored orange is a welcome splash of color to the jerseys. Quite possibly my favorite element is the use of the new shield logo on the pants. Overall, I'm impressed by the direction San Jose has gone. 4/5

I actually like that the Sharks created a fiercer looking Shark by adding color to it. I love these jerseys and they are by far the simplest that I've ever seen (which is good, IMO).

logo = much improved.

combining logo with that jersey + numbers on front = weaksauce.

I know that some of you may not like the Justin Timberlake reference, but when I first saw these jerseys, I said that the Sharks were bringing sexy back.

These are the best looking jerseys in the NHL currently, by a very wide margin.

I hate those numbers on the front of the jerseys. The only team that makes that work is Buffalo, I think. Other than that, I think they're unnecessary.

Wow im the only Sharks fan and im also the only one that thinks they deserve no higher than a 2. Ther logo however is perfect they need to get a darker blue and no orange and no stripes for there jersey

I think I like the improvements to the logo, and I LOVE the jersey....just not together. A modern logo belongs on a modern jersey and such a great traditional jersey deserves a more traditional logo.

I was never a big fan of teal as a colour; but I have to say that I was pretty impressed by the sharks' jerseys when they came out. The white jerseys look especially good.

New logo is a nice one - The rust / orange is a nice addition - Don't like the numbers on the front...one too many sets of numbers - Overall this is a really nice jersey and in my top 3

I think the jerseys are almost perfect but there are a few things I would change:

- Get rid of the number on the front. It doesn't work when there's a shoulder yoke.

- Get rid of the orange in the numbering so that it's just white outlined with black on the home jerseys and green outlined with black on the road.

- Use some kind of shark fin logo as the secondary on the shoulder instead of a logo that looks so similar to the primary.

I have a strong aversion to teal as a major colour on any type of jersey. And now that it is mixed with Orange instead of silver, it is even worse. I do like how they went with the tradition style striping and updated the logo though which bumps this up to a 2 for me. If it wasn't for that it would easily have been a 1.

I loved the Sharks jersey. Great striping, great colours. The new logo came out. Great! Love it.

The new jersey's came out. HORRIBLE! I was so disappointed. To go from the top 3 for best looking jerseys to bottom 3 is very discouraging.

The shoulder horseshoes, or whatever bring back bad memories from the 80's. But the crux of the mistake with this jersey is the yellow, or orange or whatever. Just a disgraceful choice of colours.

The uniforms looked much better last year, thier still nice but look like a poor mans St Louis Blues. 4 out of 5 stars.

new logo = BAD

new jerseys= BAD
why couldn't they keep the old logo. The old black jersey would have made a better home jersey cause it was the best all time.

this is not a bad jersey but not for an nhl team in my opinion. everyone critisized the mighty ducks jersey for being ugly and stuff but it wasnt ugly it was just innapropriate for an nhl team (think about the infamous wildwing jersey, those woud be perfect for a 10 years old team), just like the sharks this year.
