According to CNN, the Montreal Canadiens will retire Patrick Roy's jersey No. 33 this November.
I have found no further information on the subject. However, TSN has.
Good for him!

It says Reture just letting you know. And Roy's number deserves to be retired. he was a great goalie better than any goalie the Habs will ever get they were stupid to let him go.
ill be in montreal in november...and im going to a habs game
wouldnt it be cool if...
roy is def one of the best goalies ever, good for him
Here's how I see the scenario Mykl and Kevin:
....Wouldn't it be cool if after Roy's ceremony, the officiating is so bad that there are numerous questionable calls that are sent to Toronto which they get wrong (no surprise there) and one of the bad calls, interference called on Carey Price, results in the opposing team winning the game in overtime. But it gets worse, Price is livid and completely erupts at the piss-poor officiating, that even with Roy in attendance, Price barks at the player who scored the GWG on him and all hell breaks loose. Players are suspended, fined, etc. and (unfortunately) the league does nothing after conducting a bullsh*t review of their officiating policies. Furthermore, even Roy gets into the fracas and yells at the refs, so much so, that his whole retirement ceremony becomes moot, Roy is indefinitely suspended from any interaction with the NHL and the Canadiens don't officially retire his jersey until 20 or so years from now.
LOL left Field!
Don't like the fact that Montreal decided to retire his number.
Roy has numbers to confirm he was one of the better goalies in the game, but I still hate him. And becuase of his personality alone, he will never be the best goalie ever.
colorado should retire his jersey no.33!!

next time, read the linked article Sukhraj.
It's about time. One of the best regardless of his temper!
Finally, arguably the best goalie ever!
I'm not curious as to why the Canadiens are retiring Roy's number. But why are they waiting until 5 years after the Avalanche did?
Looking at the numbers, Roy had incredible numbers with both teams (although as a Kings fan, I still dislike him for the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals, 2001 Western Conference Semifinals, and 2002 Western Conference Quarterfinals). Why the Canadiens waited five years later than the Avalanche is beyond me.
found out theyre playing the islanders when i go
but they play the sens, and bruins before the 24th(when i go)...so theyll probilly have it with a division rival in town
Roy is a bum! I could care less what the Habs do - statistically he was good but Brodeur will eclipse his records. Roy proved he was a bum when he ordered his kid to fight - what a tool!
