Third Jersey Leaks Reveal New Info

Another illegitimate ebay seller is trying to hock some new third jerseys — including some that haven't been released yet. And it's the pictures that were posted that have me writing today.

If you're interested in the Lightning, Flyers or Coyotes third jerseys, I've got you covered. Still no pictures for the Senators, Stars, Kings or Sharks yet — but I'm working on it. These new images give us a better look at how the lettering and numbers will look on these sweaters.

We'll start with the Coyotes. When I leaked the first images of their new third jersey, many wondered what color the numbers would be and if they would even use the same format as the home and road sweaters. I can now answer those questions. Sand and yes.

Although obviously that jersey was made some time ago because Radim Vrbata plays for my team now and Todd Fedoruk snatched up No. 17 in Phoenix this year, I think you get the idea.

We've already seen the number and lettering styles on the Lightning and Flyers third jersey, but these pictures offer a better look. The Lightning will go with white numbers trimmed in blue and silver (no black!) and white letters for the nameplate.

The Flyers will don white numbers trimmed in black with black letters on a white nameplate. I really like that look. I just hope it isn't one of those things that starts getting copied. Just because I like something doesn't mean I want to see every team do it.

There were a lot more pictures than what I've posted here so I recommend taking a trip to Third Jersey Central to see the rest. There were also a few new photos of the Thrashers' third jersey. Keep in mind that all of these images depict Rbk Premier jerseys and not authentics, by the way.

I'll probably be in the minority on this but I don't think the white nameplate on the Flyers jersey at all. Yes, I know it's part of the vintage style they're trying to re-capture but sometimes we need to acknowledge that not every idea from the 70's was a good one. Vancouver, I'm looking at you too...

The more pictures I see of the Coyotes' 3rd jersey, the more I like it. IMO, it has a modern look without being garish.

I'm with ya webhammy... the white nameplate is just way too retro... so retro, it should stay history. I do like the font on the Phoenix jersey though... very nice.

God, I LOVE THAT FLYERS JERSEY. No matter how much I hate them. The different color nameplate makes it just that much better

I wish team USA would go back to the 1980 jerseys the ones with blue nameplates on the white shirts. Different color name plates just accent the jersey that much.

I was so excited to go to the Coyotes/Sharks game last night, toting my cell phone loaded with pics, of the 'Yotes third. Low and behold, I walked into one of the bars surrounding the arena, and there it was, staring at me. Evidently, some guy bought one of these said 'leaked' jerseys, and wore it to the game. I have to say, it looked extremely sharp, color scheme-wise. But the quality of these counterfeit jerseys is terrible. All the emblems looked like shiny, iron-on logos. Simply put, I would highly recommend not buying one of these fakes due to their quality. Wait a couple weeks. It'll be worth it.

I like the sand color the yotes are using. Gives it a nice retro look. The Coyotes have a very nice set of unis.

I really like that blue Tampa jersey. It looks sharp. Still not sure about the BOLTS on the front but the overall jersey looks great.

I am also not a fan of the vintage white name tag on th Philly uniform. I like the throwback jerseys but that design choice is so dated. I'd be cool to see a Philly/Oilers game with both teams wearing vintage jerseys but that would never happen since they are colored jerseys.

Can't say I like the Phoenix jersey much either. Their current jerseys are much more traditional and look slick compared to this third jersey. Next to Tampa's jersey, this one doesn't come up to par.

I'll reserve judgment on the quality of these replica jerseys until I see one in person. But by all accounts, they are not counterfeits. They are legit replica/Premier jerseys being sold by someone located where the jerseys are manufactured. If anyone reviewed his eBay feedback, he's a solid seller with very good feedback. So whatever he's selling, his customers are satisfied.

I own 2 Sabres vintage CCM replica jerseys, purchased from the Sabres Store, and both have "iron-on" style crests and shoulder markers. I've never complained about their quality, because they're top-notch and there is nothing to complain about.

When my new third jersey arrives from this seller, I'll be sure to compare it to the ones I currently have and then I'll make the call on their quality.

But if some of you want to throw this seller under the bus, or call his goods "fake," "illegitimate," or "counterfeit" just because he's selling them early smells like sour grapes to me.

I'll know for sure in a few days. If it's a dud, then I'll complain. If it's as good as my "legit" jerseys, then I'll be a satisfied customer. We shall see.

drew, a confirmation on the material on this post would be great. I was thinking about buying a jersey from the same seller but was afraid of the quality because of the low buy out price.

Rob, a good friend of mine already got his, and he says it's quality goods. I'll have one myself any day now. I'll be sure to let you know.

I really don't know why people are complaining about the white nameplate... it's just a person's name not the enire jersey. Philly fans should be glad to have the orange back, so they should just leave it at that. Still really don't know what to think of the Phoenix third.... but the Bolts jerey isn"t half-bad!

I just bought a Thornton Sharks jersey from one of these ebay sellers a couple days ago. I'll let you guys know what I think of the quality when it comes in. I have an authentic Cheechoo jersey so I'll be able to compare pretty easily.

To clear up any confusion I may have created: The patches and logos that I saw ( on a pre-released Coyotes third) look like sewn on, silkscreened images. Not a total iron-on, but definitely not the embroidered quality that a true jersey connoisseur would appreciate.

In the past, when playing junior hockey, I've worn jerseys that have the silkscreened images sewn on. Getting actual embroidered jereseys was always a big deal to us kids, as they didn't fade or tatter through a rigorous hockey season. So, for what it's worth, I figured I'd clarify that I'm sort of a jersey snob, and figured this forum may also include a few discriminating people such as myself.

If you're up for a quick fix, then hey. Knock yourself out. I'm not saying you won't be disappointed. I'm just saying that if you're looking for a more accurate replica, chances are it's safer to wait for it to be officially released.

Funny the Flyers would use the white nameplate. If I recall it was used for the national TV games before they required names on the backs of sweaters. I guess you take your orange any way you can...

Not a surprise that there is an newly traded player on the back of a jersey for a team that they don't play for anymore. I was told by a Authentics store rep that all 3rd jersey designs have to be submitted/approved some 6 months (if I remember right) before they are allowed to be on the ice by the NHL.

can somebody tell me what your searching on ebay to find these jerseys, i've yet to come across one. thanks.

Nov 10 · 2:02 PM PST | Unregistered Commenterrintintin

all the RBK edge premier jerseys have silk screened shoulder patches and other the only embroidered is the main crest. so im guessing that these are the real deal.

Nov 10 · 2:38 PM PST | Unregistered CommenterGraeme

How convenient guys. My jersey arrived today. No silk-screening here. It's a fully embroidered crest. They are the real deal. Exactly like my CCM vintage replicas. I am 100% satisfied. Can't wait to get it lettered and numbered!
