I wondered how long it would last. Sixteen games, apparently.

According to the Associated Press, Barry Melrose is no longer the coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning. ESPN says Rick Tocchet will take over as interim head coach.

Sorry, I know this isn't jersey related, but it's my Lightning and I can't not address it.

thats weird. i dont like the new owners. its 'win now or get out'. they're messing with chemistry by trading everyone, every week then the fire barry. wtf man. give them time to grow as a team.

I actually first hear about this at the Battle of California blog. Didn't believe it until Kukla's Korner reported it.

Barry Melrose was an ESPN analyst, then took a coaching job, and got fired, and Marc Crawford is an HNIC analyst because he was fired. Also, Andy Murray is last in the Western Conference. Not a very good time to be an ex-Kings coach.

See, we bruins don't have the problem. we're currently in second and have no need of firing Julien, our team has great chemistry and we are in no need of change in the front office or on the ice.
