Blackhawks Debut Third Jersey

Above you can see Martin Havlat, Brian Campbell and Patrick Kane donning their new sweaters.
It's exactly what the leak showed and therefore exactly what we expected. Looks good and I'm glad to see them bring it back. Though maybe they could've done something a little different. Maybe?
What do you guys think? Perfect as is or should they have tried something totally new?

It's a good look but was hoping for something different
Looks good.
Few quick nit-picks at how I think it could have looked better.
-The colour of the Black Hawk's skin looks a bit too dark compared to the home/away jersey
-I don't like how the stripes are made with a material that makes them look shiny
-Secondary logo could have used a red and/or white outline

the hawks is my favorite logo and their jersey si the best in the game however the 3rd is kinda eh. I was hoping for something more retro
Kinda wished they'd done something new, these are the same 3rds we've seen before afterall. Just the same though, they do look nice, just nothing special.
The Blackhawks, in my opinion, have always had the nicest third in hockey.
i don't understand why you need a third when the red is already the best in the game... Yawn at Black.
The Hawks are an original six team, they shouldnt mess with a classic logo and they should have classic jerseys to go with it. Good job by the Hawks.
After looking at the middle photo, does anyone else see the FAN wearing the black 3rd (upper right corner). If anyone attended last nights game, were the black jerseys on sale BEFORE or DURING the game?

That jersey also does not look like the new edge jersey their is no NHL sheild in the collar.
It could easily just be an old black jersey.. they have worn black jerseys before.
It's classic.. but it's more old than good. It's really plain to me, and not one of my favorite third jerseys.
I know the Hawks used black jersey a while ago, so nothing against them, but what is with even more teams introducing new black jerseys! Get creative NHL teams! God! I would have absolutely loved to see the Bruins go in a different direction with their third jersey.. maybe some sort of brown or yellow. The Coyotes.. just after switching over to that burgundy and beige color scheme not long ago.. which was great compared to that desert motif crap green they used to have, are changing to black. Perhaps they should have tossed some bright blue in there.. a la Winnepeg Jets. Too much black people!
Props to the teams who are sticking to their guns and not introducing black to their color scheme. The Islanders for example have beautiful new thirds, they are magnificent. The Oilers have nice new throwbacks as well.
Also Im so thankful my favorite team, the Flyers, are ditching the black for part of the season to wear orange throwbacks.

Looks good! Again, exactly what we were all expecting from the leak and even before. I know we all want to see something new, but in the end it is still classy even if it is black.
I think that the Hawks should use the Winter Classic Jersey as their third jersey.
Perfect the way it is. When I tuned into the game, the girlfriend immediately noticed the new jerseys. "Hey - I've never seen those before. Those are sharp." Can't help but agree with her.

Was at the game last night, bought a black jersey at the stadium. They looked real nice out on the ice. I agree with past comments - classic team, classic uni, so why go for something different if you must have a third. Don't stray from what's worked for some 50 years.

Those black sweaters are look good! If black were the Blackhawks' primary dark colour, those sweaters would fit the bill. It complements their classic white uniforms. Even though I am tired of all these black uniforms popping up like mushrooms, Chicago's is a natural.
Well, no surprises -- they're just Reebok Edge versions of the black sweaters they wore from the '97-'98 season thru '06-'07.
Two minor changes I wish they would have made, though.
1) Lace-up collars
2) Instead of using the same shoulder patches as the red jerseys (white/green tomahawks), they should have used the patches from the white jerseys (green/red tomahawks).
I like the idea of the BLACKhawks actually wearing black, but there is absolutly no way they could get rid of the red primary jerseys. As far as I'm concerned, black should be reserved for third jersey's only, it's to stale of a colour for most primaries. The only teams who can pull off black primaries are Pittsburgh (way better than the blue they might be switching to), Boston (which means their third this year shouldn't be black), the Kings (anything is an upgrade over purple and yellow) and what Calgary used to wear (C'mon, the flaming horse was downright scary as a logo, and not in the '96 Ducks kinda scary)
The Ducks and Stars should still be green, the Flyers should definately still be rocking orange threads, and Tampa should be blue, but without BOLTS across it.
I'm just getting sick of all the black in the league. While in theory I like this jersey, I'm really just bored by it.
I loved these jerseys the first time i saw them ten years back, and I still love them! If I have a complaint about it, the colors of the hatchet handles on the shoulder shouldn't be green; red would be much, much better with the gold "C" or maybe change the "C" to red and make the hatchet handles white, just to bring in the idea of the primary jerseys. Oh, and laces on the collar, definitely!
And I agree that this is a great THIRD jersey. Red and white are the classics and should remain primary.
And this might not be the best place for it, but the NHL should bring back the white home jerseys. I've had enough of this road jersey=home jersey experiment.
