More Than Just a Blog

I just wanted to take a moment and remind everyone that Icethetics is more than just this blog here. There's a lot more to check out when I have no new "news" posts.

The big news today is that I'm breathing life back into the stagnant Concepts section. It'll be slow to start, but I'm going to be posting more concept art. You guys asked for it, so I plan to deliver. I just posted some new Flames, Wild and Avs artwork today.

Plus, the IceHL is going stronger than ever. More and more votes keep coming in on the logo polls and I hope to begin accepting uniform concepts very soon. Designers will be required to work within a specific template as far as submissions but will be completely free to design their jerseys however they'd like.

And of course, don't forget about Twitter. If you don't have an account, it's no problem. Just keep an eye on the updates in the sidebar right here on the blog. I update it several times a day even when there's nothing new on the blog.

If you haven't heard, the USF Ice Bulls are unveiling their new logo tomorrow on their web site. I'll let you know when it gets posted. I would like to join them in thanking everyone who submitted work. There were some incredible entries making the decision extremely difficult. Congrats to all!

By the way, if you are still working on a concept and would like to share it with Icethetics readers, please send it along. I'll be posting all of the entries on the Concepts page following the Ice Bulls' official unveiling tomorrow.

Okay, what's wich making the current top sidebar item white on white? When you move your cursor over it, it's dark orange on light orange, which makes much more sense even out of context.

Long time reader, first time commenter...

First of all, this is a great blog.

Second: The Columbus Blue Jackets have an awesome name, drawing from the Civil War, a nice-looking jersey and good colors. Yet they have never been able to get a crest right. That should be the first in the concept series (something with a cannon, which they have adopted as an unofficial symbol) is probably ideal...

Jibblescribbits, actually, I think the Blue Jackets have a great look with what they have. The logo represents the state of Ohio. A cannon-based third jersey would be a good idea though.

I know the flag represents the state of Ohio, but a solitary star? and the whoosh thing the flag does... kinda lame IMO.

I'm ok with the flag as part of the logo, but I just don't like it. It seems pretty generic.

Speaking about that, I'd really like to be able to chime in on the Icehl jersey picks. And I'd love to hear the rationaliztions behind some of the people's choice (3 teams in blue, orange and white already ? feels just like the NHL...). Why are all comments off in the icehl section ?

Why are all comments off in the icehl section ?

To give us more accurate results by preventing voters from being swayed by the comments of others. There's nothing anyone needs to say about the logos anyway. You can offer your opinion with the vote button. I've explained this all before.

Then why didn't you turn comments off when doinjg other tournaments like best NHL logo because that definitely swayed voters.
