Bruins Go With Gold... Again
The Boston Bruins are certainly getting their money's worth from those Winter Classic jerseys.
Fans at this afternoon's matinee against the Vancouver Canucks were treated to the gold jersey for the third time since the New Year's Day game at Fenway Park. More game photos.
This is the most we've seen a team wear the special jersey in the same season as their Winter Classic appearance. However, it has become common to see some teams appropriate the sweater as an alternate uniform the following season.
Seems pretty clear to me the Bruins want to keep on using this jersey and I, for one, would be all for that. There is some bad news, though...
The Bs blew a 2-0 first period lead, losing to the Canucks in a shootout today. The Bruins are now 0-2 in the yellow unis since winning the Winter Classic on Marco Sturm's overtime goal.

Also, Luongo was breaking in his team Canada equipment in that same game, as seen in the picture.
Love those unis.
God I hope the Bruins keep the gold jerseys. I would like to see the logo from their current third retained as the new third or home logo though.
another good looking Saturday with the B's in gold, Wild in green and the Leafs in their beautiful thirds. Speaking of Toronto...
I personally never liked that TML logo. How about replacing it with a double-B insignia to honor Burke's son Brendan, who died tragically on Friday. I think that would be better than that sloppy TML. Thoughts? I think the team should really pay tribute to this guy. He was 21 years old. By all accounts a wonderful human being and son. I feel badly for the Burke family.
MP, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Leafs wear a special patch for the rest of the season in honor of Brendan. I sure hope they do. It would be a real classy move.
