All 7 Stadium Sweaters Revealed

Screen shot via NHL

Promotional email seems to confirm Devils throwback

An email sent out by the NHL Store in New York City shows the seven jerseys that will be worn for the 2014 NHL Stadium Series. And interestingly, it includes a photo of a non-game version of the New Jersey Devils' 2010-launched throwback sweater.

Check out the screen shot above, courtesy of Icethetics reader Ryan Holmes. We know it's a "non-game version" pictured because since 2007, every NHL game jersey has featured that little NHL shield on the collar. No exceptions.

Of course a game version does exist. The Devils have worn it a couple of times in recent years for St. Patrick's Day games. But because this graphic doesn't show us the exact jersey the team will wear, we're still left to wonder whether they've really avoided the chrome crest catastrophe.

I'd say one of our New York-area readers should pop into the store and snap some photos for us, but in all likelihood the jersey pictured is probably the one you'll find on the shelf. It just won't be the one the Devils wear at Yankee Stadium on Jan. 26.

All that aside, what do you think of seeing all seven of them together? Should be easier to compare and contrast now.

Saw the Penguins sweater over the weekend at a Dick's store here in Pittsburgh. They had customized models only for four different players. The numbers and names were in the normal Reebok replica style...screened and glued with simulated stitches. All of the models I saw did have the Stadium Series patch attached...also looked to be glued. Doesn't really look too bad...except for the horrible screened crest...it looks like the colors are more "washed out" than "chrome". I never buy replicas, and at $180 this is way beyond overpriced.

Was I correct in seeing earlier that Reebok was not going to offer the "authentic" model for sale to the public?

Can somebody answer me this? Do I have a chance to wear a personalized red and green Devils jersey to the Yankee Stadium game or not? I applaud the Devils for telling Reebok to shove it, but I can't stand the Devils for not allowing the fans to at least purchase a jersey at a Modell's or someplace.

The Devils are being ridiculous. You got selected to participate in something special, wear an alternate jersey like everyone else. Even Detroit wears special jerseys for these type of events and they have far more history and heritage that New Jersey circa 1982 does. Also, couldn't they use the money from sales since we spent the last few years hearing rumors of how broke they are? I hope the NHL doesn't gives future games like this to teams that aren't whiny brats about playing along with the program.

Just got a message that Devils Jerseys at the NHL store indeed have a chrome crest. Not sure if true or not.

Judging by the promotional stuff the Devils have been doing, they've been wearing the ol' CCM Vintage jerseys that have been around for a while - however, comments from Lou Lamoriello state that they've kept all discussions about the Yankee Stadium game hush-hush - the unveiling of new equipment (gloves, hats, shirts, etc), and pretty much everything associated with the Stadium Series game has been nonexistent because the organization didn't want ANYTHING to be a distraction for the team during the season. So who knows...

As much as I love the vintage Devils stuff, this game would have been a prime opportunity to play around with a red/green/black uniform set to marry the old with the new. The only thing I see that does this is the Shop NHL t-shirt with the NYC subway-themed NJ/Bronx t-shirt, and it actually looks cool and has a lot of promise.
