In 1991, a new era of massive NHL expansion is ushered in as hockey returns to northern California with the addition of the San Jose Sharks. Before the decade is over, the league will grow from 21 to 30 teams. The Sharks bring the total to 22. Meanwhile, black becomes a more prominent color for the Minnesota North Stars as they alter their logo and uniforms, foreshadowing their eventual relocation to Dallas.

I LOVE these maps! Every logo change, and even pinpoint the arena locations! Only issue is that Hartford is in the wrong location. Other than that, I wait for these maps every day!!

GREAT JOB!!

The beginning of the end of the good old days! The Whale was still in existence! No teams in the South!

Wow, no wonder there aren't many prospects from anywhere but Canada and the Northeast. When these prospects were born, there weren't any teams in the area.
