At least the Hurricanes logo has something to do with Hurricanes.
But these two logos ... ugh.
God! Why don't you people STOP voting for the frickin' Canucks logo?!!! It is a frickin' sitck inside of a box!!!! How can this win?! Yes it has history, but come on!!!!
I've said it once, I'll say it again. This logo gets far into the tourney and Rory Fitzpatrick almost made the All-Star game ... Canucks fans have a way of voting in massive numbers for undeserved recognition.
It sucks that Chris puts so much time and effort into this site and it gets somewhat cheapened by stuff like this. To each his own, but the fact that this logo beat the Bruins logo and is on pace to beat another logo that ACTUALLY REPRESENTS THE TEAM'S NAMESAKE is extremely lame.
sometimes the best logo are the simpler one..i like the canucks logo and i am not a canucks fan..i love the color and how it look and thats it..im not thinking too much about what it represent or whatever..its all about how it looks,,this isnt the history of art or anything .its just vote for the best looking logo that all dont over analyse this contest..
I prefer rounded squares to pointy squares. Thats my reason.
I really like the Canucks logo, I thought it was one of the top four in this tournament, easily, going in. I think this has less to do with Canucks fans cheapening the tournament by somehow cheating to advance their logo and more to do with a good logo going deep.
Another match up where I don't like either one all that much. I'll go with Vancouver, I guess. I like their colours better than Carolina's. I don't know why they had to mess with the shape of the stick, though. Angling it like that hurt it in my opinion.
Now I'm far from being a fan of that Carolina secondary logo, it actually represents the team's name. When I see their logo, it says "Hurricanes". When I see the Canucks logo, it tells me "crooked stick in a roundy box".
@Sir Barbeton
I agree 100%!
I don't really like either team but at least Carolinas represents the team!
Chris:
You should make a special poll with the Canucks current secondary logo against the original Canucks 1970s primary logo.
The stick in the rink also makes a "C", as in "Canucks".
By the logic I'm seeing here, the Chicago Bears logo is dumb because the "C" has nothing to do with a bear, or Ottawa's secondary "O" logo is poor because has nothing to do with a Senator...
LOL....it's so funny when ignorant people write about conspiracies in this tournament. Like Canuck fans out there ruining this tournament for everyone and Chris' time and effort is going to waste. Ha, ha....I mean COM'ON REALLY! The Canucks logo is a great logo.....simple shapes arranged meaningfully. That's why it's one of the best in this tournament and it's the same reason the Caps logo is doing so well, simple imagery collected into one logo in a meaningful way.
u people are retarded
how on earth can you expect the canucks to work a canuck into their logo and have it look good
that johnny canuck logo was pathetic
same thing with the habs
do you expect us to have a jersey with a dude waving the canadian flag?
of course we won't have a canucks in our logo
anyway the new update for the stick in rink logo is great, the stick is a realistic size and it looks more modern when itt's crooked
and the hurricanes logo really isn't good it's just a stick with a flag on it
they tried to hard to make the flag look cool by cutting up the edges and what kind of a hockey stick bends when it's standing straight up?
It is not a "pointy square", ryan. It is a triangle, which ALSO represents the hurricanes! The Carolina Hurricanes are located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Raleigh is part of a Tri-City group called the Triangle. There you go. Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill. Behind a storm warning flag, meaning you're about to get slammed against the boards.
That compared to a stick in a rink that makes some kind of C doesn't do it for me. It barely represents the canucks at all.
The better logo has won. And the flag in front of the triangle was kind of pointy :P
But seriously, the mark of a good logo is layers disguised as simplicity. Hockey stick. Rink. Together, a C.
Layers.
