there logo from 92-01 was the hands down best in the leauge at least they keep it on the shoulder ands its playable in most NHL games but if it was the older one i would say pens this one doesnt look mean at all it makes it look like a kids league logo so im going with the panthers
It is a logo contest! the pens one is better. what is with people saying crosby has anything to do with this contest. well at least i know now that everyone who thinks crosby has anything to do with us liking the logo is a complete jackass. we have had this logo well before crosby and if people voted for it then, you guys probably would have said it is because of mario. man some people are so jealous of the penguins it is so funny and pathetic what half of them say about crosby. if they had him on there team they would love him. PENS LOGO IS A CLASSIC! i am a graphic designer so i know something about logos and the panthers logo is way to busy. in a logo the more detail you use the harder it is to see when it is reduced in size. although whom ever made the panther is an excellent artist, it just doesn't work as a logo.
the pens logo was made famous by mario lemieux, not sidney crosby
the panthers logo is just a picture of a panther. boring.
This was a very tough choice to make, but if I had to choose, I'd go with the Panthers logo based on detailing, good use of color and it's an easy logo to recognize.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the Penguins logo as well, but if I am to vote, I cannot sit on the fence. I'm happy with my choice.
And another thing, can we please leave the personal issues with Sun Belt teams out of this?
Florida logo has great detail and attitude... just flat out better than the Pens' logo. Not that I don't like the Pens' logo.
Pens all the way. I dont really like the Panthers color scheme and the logo doesnt really work for me. Off topic, is it just me, or does the Panthers tail look like its representing a different part of a Panthers anatomy? :oP
Pens all the way. There's something old school about the Pens, and it's a classic design that has more connotations of old time hockey and the glory years of the NHL. The Panther just looks white trash and early 90's in all the wrong ways, much like Vanilla Ice.

My first hard decision of the tourney. I like the Panther logo its ferice and cool but the pens is simple, classic and beautiful.
I think it comes down to the colors and i like the pens colors much better.
Panthers logo is better, people are only voting for it cause of sidney crosby, Florida handsdown has the BEST LOOKING LOGO in the NHL. Give me a break pens looks classic, how many jersyes and logos have they had?? Pens are garb

both do a good job with references to their respective areas (the Panther being indigenous to the area, and the golden triangle referring to a nickname for Pittsburgh)
I vote Pens because its more classic, and I think that the panther is both a corny nickname considering 20394820934 teams are the "Panthers" in sports. Also, the whiskers and some details of the Panther are pretty cheesy, typical of the early 90s.
People who think people vote Pens b/c of Crosby are retarded and forget that Lemieux, the GREATEST (that's right i said it) player to ever play the sport built this franchise. Typical responses from bad hockey markets that have nothing to gush about...oh wait...yall had Pavel Bure right?
Lets just look at the logo -
Florida Panthers, Hmm, what should they have - A PANTHER... OOOOOO I am not impressed.
Pittsburgh Penguins, Hmm, what should they have - A penguin... OK we are tied at this point BUT
Pens include the hockey stick, the golden triangle (what Pgh is called 'cause of the rivers), and the Black 'n Gold - Remember that every team in Pgh is Black 'n Gold. (Extra points to the Pens for even have a "black 'n gold" mascot)
Panther.. too simple, too general. Reminds me of a High School sports logo/mascot. Penguins with the original name, and original logo gets my vote.
if only these 2 logos didnt meet this soon. both are great and would have beat almost any other logo paired against it.
I love the Penguins logo. I have always loved that Pens logo.
