Possible Third Jersey Logo Tournament
Saturday · Sep 22 · 2007 | 5:23 PM PDTYou've still got 10 more days to vote, but it's starting to seem like we've got a front runner in terms of our next logo tournament. Over 3,600 votes have been cast this week and most of you seem to be interested in third jersey logos.
So just to clue you all in on what to expect if that's the next Tournament of Logos we end up doing, here are the 16 logos that will be used.
I'll determine the bracket randomly but that won't be posted until the voting is over — because as we know, anything can happen.
Tomorrow I'll show you what the a vintage logo tournament would look like. And then perhaps some time next week I'll do a look at a secondary logo tournament.

Pucky would be considered a secondary logo i beleive. and if your gonna have the Senators third, which is the currentl the primary, you cant leave out Columbus' third. and i thougt there were more too?
Oh god, the Kings Old Man logo- can I vote that as WORST third jersey ever?

well im nearly positive the canes are using our secondary for our third as well...
i also think all teams should be in the tournament... the third jerseys arent such a good idea...

Not every team has had a third jersey. Anaheim has had two.

We're going to feature logos since the Third Jersey Program was implemented in 1995.

I'm only going with third jersey logos that were not primary/secondary/vintage marks. The stick-in-the-rink logo would be part of a vintage tournament.

That logo is not the current primary mark for the Senators. It's similar but not the same. The Blue Jackets, however, are using the same logo as was on their third jersey.
I should also note that while the Panthers, Wild and Coyotes used elements of their primary logo on their third jersey, I felt they were different enough to warrant being part of this group.
And no, that's everybody. My research was exhaustive.

Just to warn you now, it'll likely be a while before all 30 teams are in the same logo tournament again. A bracket with 16 teams is much simpler and we can get through it about a month, opening the door for the next tournament after that.
The exception to that will be a jersey tournament if we do it. Then all 30 teams will be involved again. Otherwise you'll have to wait until next summer when we can do another tournament of primary logos.
