Poll: Canucks Logo History
Monday · Sep 3 · 2007 | 1:18 AM PDT 42 Comments
We can't start Round Three of the tournament until Wednesday while we wait for the results of the Penguins/Canadiens match. In the meantime, we have logo history polls for those days off. Today, you can vote for the Canucks' best all-time logo. We're only comparing primary marks here. We'll get to other teams in the future. The Sabres are up tomorrow.
Place your vote and then feel free to leave a comment as to how you came to your decision. Tell all your friends to drop in and vote! The more voices heard, the more accurate the results!
Poll opening date Sep 3 @ 4:18 AM | Poll closing date Sep 10 @ 11:59 PM |

the "V" jersey logo was the skate logo, its just on the arms instead
It doesn't really matter which logo the Canucks use. They all kind of represent a piece of the 37 year futility of the organization. They've never won anything nor they ever will with the new 'Birthing Whale'.
I grew up in the skate era; I can't identify my team with anything else more than I do with that mark. That being said, I don't think the Canucks have ever had a truly iconic logo. I do really like the new one with the wordmark, but without "Vancouver" it just looks bland and uninteresting.
the flying v is not the worst jersey in sports history. it's not even the worst in canucks history. that distinction goes to that third jersey from recent years with the red fading into navy blue. gradients are never good for jerseys, especially when the two colors involved are so far apart on the color wheel.
i second mike's johnny canuck sentiments.
I think the Stick/rink logo is winning because it's the closest one to looking like the boring uninspired logo's of the original six...for some reason hockey and alot of it's fans have a real attitude about progression and change...probably why it's on OLN in the states.
:) run's away from O6 fanbois and hockey elitists
Just a comment in regards to clarification. The Canucks "Skate" logo was officially introduced in 1978, not in 1980 as your poll indicates.
now here is a battle of four hideous logo's. 1980 all the way though.
someone actually said the skate had good colours?

Yep. This is what passes for aesthetic taste in Canada.

I think it's winning because Vancouver has the most hideous logo history of any professional sports team bar none.
I think that pathetic hockey stick logo wins by default.
u have to be kidding me...49% and winning...its a freaking hockey stick in a square...(sarcasm)omg its freakin amazing(end sarcasm)
I grew up with the skate. It has my 100% support. It, to me, defines Vancouver the best.

You're right on about that. I should've double-checked. I was going with the date on SportsLogos.net. That's what I get for not paying attention. Thanks for letting me know and I've fixed the mistake — albeit a little late.
Who the hell voted for the skate??? That logo is as ugly as sin. The newer orca is the lesser of these evils so it gets my vote
ok lets get the stick as a third jersey in 08-09 season cause i just don't think the stick will stay in fashion for long
The blue into red is one of the sharpest jerseys they've ever had, it contrasts everything very very nicely.
I voted for stick, just cuz I really don't like the skate and the new orca kinda sucks.
the blue into red was a crime. honestly a visual assault that outdid the worst they'd had to offer yet in their whole history of ugly.
