No flying V???

The original is still the best imo.
I do have some fond memories from the skate era though.

This is actually harder than it would seem.

...

The skate has good color presence, but it's *WAY* busy. The stick/rink is simple, and good colors, but boring. I like the update they use now a heck of a lot more. The original Orca doesn't really work with the color scheme.. something mish-mash about it.

So.. I'm going with the Orca update. It's simpler, the colors work, it's a bit original, and it just has more strength than any of the other three in my eyes.

It's just a stick...from a business standpoint, trying to appeal to a bigger market besides Vancouver fans is a difficult thing if all you're selling is a stick logo. It's doesn't have long term selling power. It's best in its current role as a shoulder patch. But seriously I like the stick too but the updated Orca wins.

The flying Spaghetti is #2 in the polls so far?????
You've gotta be kidding me!

I voted for the newest Orca, since at least the ice is white. I wish the eyes would have stayed red like my Sabres.

I do like the stick a lot. But it has no connection with either the name of the city or the team. It could be any teams logo really. So I'm fully suporting Charlie. Stick as shoulder patch and updated lorca on the crest.

Hey Chris, you should add the leafs to the logo history pole, they have had a few and tampa has only had two, so could you maybe add the leafs?.. there is also th LA Kings... just a thought

Not to worry, I'm hitting all the teams that have changed logos. That's just a short-term schedule in the sidebar while I figure out the rest of it. I plan to have the complete schedule up by the end of the day. The Kings and Leafs will be included. Thanks!

My favorite is still the stick/rink. Color scheme is nice and the design is simple. I don't like the updated Orca at all. It is too white, you notice the white before the orca. Plus, the blue orca looks like it's transparent against the blue jersey.

I think you should add the Flying V to the poll! Haha...

the one from 1970 has a nice color combo and is very simple, so it works well as a symbol. however, it is somewhat plain and probably does serve best as a secondary logo. the one from 1980 is more dynamic, colorful and busy, but not busy enough to make it look bad....both orcas are solid, but i dont like their colors (the new one is better, but is missing green)....therefore.....1980 FTW!

They all stink. The only Canucks image I've ever even remotely liked it Johnny Canuck. What a sad, boring logo history.

All the people who are voting for that stupid stick are disillusioned Vancouver fans. You should have a seperate poll one for Vancouver fans, one for non-Vancouver fans. I guarantee the Vancouver fan poll is about 90% in favor of the stick in rink, for whatever the hell reason they've convinced themselves that that has anything to do with being a good representation of their club, with the non-vancouver fans being more reasonable with their votes.

Let's be honest. They're all awful.

Sep 3 · 10:11 AM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

I know im in the minority here, but I love the Orca logo's....both of them.

To me, it is one of the better "letter" logo's in the league, and beautifully captures something unique about Vancouver.

1997 for me.

the orca is brutal, reminds me of free willy and micheal jackson, terrible

bring back pavel bure and the flying skate UNREAL

havent liked the canucks since

Sep 3 · 11:13 AM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

why is anyone voting for the skate?
it's terrible

Sep 3 · 11:47 AM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

I like the all of them, but my favorite is the stick/rink/C because it's simple and I love the Vintage, makes the Canucks look like they have the same history as the original six. It may not connect to the city as well as the orca, but the colors do. When I picture a Canuck, I'm thinking he/she is holding a hockey stick.

Sep 3 · 11:55 AM PDT | Unregistered Commentercanuck

As a Vancouver fan, what I remember most about the team are their 2 Cup runs. Great moments with Roger Nielsen and the "Flying V", and also Bure in the "Skate" uniform. Since Flying V is not on the poll, and easily the worst jersey in sports HISTORY, the Skate will always be my favorite.

Sep 3 · 12:24 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

The skate in rink logo doesnt even remotely resemble a C, except to canucks fan who use that excuse to justify supporting it.

To everyone else it just looks like a stick - in - a - box, and the first thing that comes to mind is "What did they buy the bargain generic "Team Hockey" jerseys from the Wal-Mart sale?"

Sep 3 · 12:52 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

Not that the original logo from the 70' is spectacular, in fact it might be the most boring logo ever conceived. But when set against the rest of those stink bombs it actually comes out the best. If you ask me they only go down hill from there, with the orca C being the worst. It's update did nothing more but make it even more bland.

Sep 3 · 1:01 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

Seeing how the choices are between four pretty ugly logos, I went with the least hideous. It's the stick.

Sep 3 · 1:10 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

Ok You can change logos, uniforms, number fonts, but what should not change is colors. Vancouver need to make up its mind. Great teams dont do this (NY yankees,Boston Celtics,Dallas Cowboys)The only color they havent used is Purple and Brown.

Sep 3 · 3:11 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterThe Uniform Czar

The stick thing is suposed to be a "C"?! Oh wow I didn't know/notice that haha. It made it nicer..but it should be more obvious.

Sep 3 · 4:40 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

the colors of the skate contrasted with each other the best... the blue and green just kind of sucks, but hey, i still like it... i thought the 97 ones were the worst, though.

Can't wait for the Sabres one, though. Everybody knows which logo will win that battle

Sep 3 · 6:16 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterSabres Persuasion

Exactly the point.

If someone doesn't tell you that the logo is intended to look like a "C", the 1970 logo does NOT look ANYTHING like a C.

It's the dumbest love-affair to a historical logo in all of sports, hands down. Its like a baseball team having a love affair to a logo that is nothing more than a Glove with a ball in it. Oh wait...
