Desert Art

The last time I posted any good Phoenix Coyotes artwork was... well, it was never. I've never posted any good Phoenix Coyotes artwork and for that I am ashamed. That streak ends this afternoon.

If there was ever a reason for the 'Yotes to don a black third jersey, this would be it.

I never would've thought that PHX logo would look good as a crest. Proved me wrong, right there. Here's what made me think that in the first place.

Yeah. Don't worry, though, I'm not wasting it. We've got some decent Freak Out stuff for Friday too.

Below is a simple redesign concept with the old moon logo I liked a lot.

This does make me miss the PHX logo, though. However, the Coyotes still wear that moon logo on their pants. But what if we combine it with the current primary?

And then slap it on a jersey?

Lastly, we get a look at the reason why text needs to stay off the front of jerseys.

That's all I've got for you today. Tune in next time for more fan made concept art. You know you love it. In the meantime, keep voting on the NHL's best goalie masks! Despite being just over halfway through the first round, we're actually making some headway. We'll have a winner before you know it.

Something BIG is coming... May 1, 2008!

Oh!

And what do you think about the Stars, the Oilers, the Canucks, the Ducks, the Islanders, the Rangers, the Maple Leafs, the Capitals the Preds, the Wild and even the Lightnings?!

They have all their name (or the name of their city) on the crest!!! That makes 11 out of 30!

Oh, you know what I think! Even about my beloved Lightning (no "s" in there)! It's bad, bad, bad. And the Ducks have it the worst!

If the "BOLTS" wordmark rumor becomes the third jersey for TB, I'd really feel sorry for you Chris.

To emphasize, imagine if the Canadiens put "HABS" across their third jersey next year.

Really? You can't believe it?! (Tell me more about every other thing in my life since you know so much!)

And actually, the anniversary as far as I'm concerned is May 9. But keep guessing.

Why do you say that? What if he actually does something nice, like (cough) redesign the site? (cough)

:)

1. Chris, your doing a great job, and this site gives me something to do whenever I'm bored.

2. That black jersey is hot. and I'd definitely have to get one of those if they ever made them

even on that black jersey, i dont think their secondary patch can hold its own as the focal point...not a bad concept tho

The current Coyotes jersey is perfect in my opinion. No need to change it at all. And no I am not a Coyotes fan.

Chris,

You've got to stop posting "diaper effect" jersey concepts dude. The diaper effect is the absolute single worst element of the new EDGE jerseys. Can't you just eliminate it in your concepts? It would do a world of good for me when I'm critiquing.

Let's cheer on the Phoenix Arizonas! Nice mark, but conceptually doesn't work as a primary crest.
