IHA Poll: Montréal Rouge

Below are a handful of the logos that were submitted but not selected as finalists. If you think one of these should be the Montréal Rouge logo, select "non-finalist" in the poll and tell us your pick in the comments.

This is the best overall set of logos so far, this is a tough choice. The best one is the 2nd of the non-finalists that seems to combine the fleur-de-lis (sp?) and a maple leaf which makes for a great representation of both Montreal and Canada. It is both simple and bold and would look great on a uniform.
The one that says Montreal is awesome, nonfinalist, second row, third column. A great logo, would be fantastic in the NHL.
Felt 1st finalist was the clear winner, I don't know why exactly but it just works. 2nd row and 3rd column of the non-finalist was also great, good for a secondary or alternate.
wait a minute, my logo didn't even made the non-finalists but the logo of the city of MTL DID? Come on Chris some logos shouldn't be here! The last N/F? Gimme a break a girl clubbing? THATS NOT HOCKEY!!! St-George's Cross on the Quebec territory, thats almost insulting to all the french canadians! Yeah I'm pissed off! Cause my logo should've been AT LEAST a N/F! It's insulting to see a logo like the clubbing girl made at least a N/F list!
LOL sorry about my Clubbing Girl everyone i know its not hockey but i could only thing of montreal as a Clubbers town. and i know its the Redlight Capital of canada. i know it was a long shot but oh well.
Cartello, the cross is Mtl's coat of arms.
And chris, mine isn't in the Non-finalists either, was it THAT bad?
But ya i'm not voting, they are all too similar to my design but in a less less creative way for me to vote. N/f third row middle is pretty similar to mine, so if i was voting I'd give it mine. None of the finalists are great though: n/f 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 12 are all better.
Oh btw I didn't mean for there to be two "less" there, that technically would mean the opposite of what I mean. I mean they are less creative, if not done by more artistically talented people.
And is it just me or is finalist 3 just a crappier version of the non-finalist fourth row middle?
Josh, ur right. the city of MTL has the red cross. Still, I see's it as misleading!
I actually used it for my secondary, though this one isnt mine I bet its a secondary as well.
Sorry for saying it's insulting to your logo Mike Phoenix, but it's insulting when I took alot of time to create a good set of hockey logos and of good quality that didn't even make the N/F list and i'm speaking for all the participants that feels the same way as I. And to see the logo of the city of Montréal there... it's like a slap/spit in the face. I'm not a cry baby, just making sure i'm been heard!
LOL its ok Cartello I know mine is a bit of a farce. I was kind in your Spot yesterday about te bears one i did. but for a diffrent Reason. But dont get to upset with chris, He is doing this on his own time and he dont really have to keep doing it. but he does. i cut him the slack yesterday becasue i know that and he was right and showed me where i was wrong. I know my slef as and artist that i wouel be pissed if that happend to me as well. Hell just becasue My email didnt get to him one day i missed beeing one of the Good Titans logo that he put up after that division was done. every one loved it . yeah i was upset i didnt get to have it in there but fair is fair. Maybe yours got lost I can see he had alot to choose from and maybe it just got lost some where. BUt i dont know. maybe you should e-mail him and not Flame so much here. Beleave me i undertand where you coming from.
I did n/f third row, middle. In case it needed explaining, it's actually a stylized M.
When people complain their log didn't make it and say how creative it was, how clean and great it was, why don't you show us since there's obviously a reason they weren't chosen, most likely because they're not at the same level (if that's possible) as the ones they are shown. So show us your logo, put your money where your big mouth is, and we'll be the judge. Chris has probably made the right decisions anyway.
all of these logos are pretty cool, some a lot more cooler than others... i'm voting for n/f #4, the "M" with the Montreal symbol in it.... haha just b/c i made it! otherwise, this is a strong group of logos

Sad. I thought more people would acknowledge the Maroons throwback in NF 4 (Second row, first column.) It's not my favorite (voted for finalist three), but it deserves a mention. Good job.

Non-finalist #6 with NF #1 as the secondary logo. That would be a sweet identity.
I still fail to see why so many people are looking to the NHL and Wondering WHY this IHA dont have some Tie in with the Team of that city. it Really Boggles my mind. People complan about The colours of Ottawas and say its not right with out red becasue of the Sens. or why didnt anyone make one look like the Maroons. Just like the Bears and the Whalers looking one. It dont belong here. THIS IS NOT THE NHL. This is FICTION. NOT REAL. Your suppose to pretned The NHL dont exisit. or its just another Leauge. Do you think The Whaler Copyright owners would let that Bears logo be used. no i dont think so with out paying BIG MONEY for it. I dont think there should be any Tie In to any of the NHL Teams. its just wrong. if you Started your own Pro Leauge today. and wanted to Tie in NHL Team looks or Likeness into your leauge. your Leauge would Fail befor it got off the Ground.

Umm... the City of Hartford owns the rights to the name, colours, logo and jersey.

OMG Cartello. I feel that logo. Nice work . Hey Chris i know it might be late but i think you can take mine out and put His in. Thats a way better one then mine. Like you told me mine looks good for ROUGE NIGHT CLUB. I strongly sugest you use Cartello's. Oh hay Cart i dont go on there to much and i dont post much of my work there not more. but look for Mike Pho3niX on DA.
Just a note after Ogre's comment. I did finalist three with a nod to the shield and letter combination of the http://nhluniforms.com/1910s/191718.html" REL="nofollow">Montreal Wanderers and to the large, simple letter of the Maroons.
good eye on "Chuck" I say as that is the way they were designed to be. Although the secondary was just a toss in once I realized the primary, secondary, word mark logos were basically scrapped in this contest for just the primary logo.
Why is it no one says anything good about the winners on these blogs? The winners get the votes, the non-finalists seem to get all the props.
