3 all the way. One of the best logos in the tourney so far IMO.
I'm with siletnoise on this one !
Ditto. That one is excellent. They should give them an NHL team now just so they can use that logo.
I like #3 a lot as well. #1 reminds me of the logo for Barack Obama' campaign.
I agree with the general consensus. Option #3 is the best of this set and (at this moment) would be in the finals if the IHA had a logo bracket.
Im Very Glad that everyone likes that one. its one of my best. the Ottawa one is only 50% but i thought it was good to. Wait till you see the Hamilton one. Im glad i was able to touch up my Stars one that didnt make it in on time.
I actually like all three of these. The third is definitely the winner though, it's quite awesome. The first option would be a most excellent secondary logo.
Three is nice, but doesn't really represent the team well. That could be for the Yellowknife Ice Bears or the Manitoba Snow Grizzlies.
Yeah, my only problem with 3 is that there's already a team called the bears. I wanted to vote for 2 then, but it looks (unintentionally, I think) too much like a maple leaf. /shrug, this one's tough for that purpose only.
I like the idea of #3 but in terms of how presentable it is and everything maybe not. Maybe if it was a bit more simplified in colour scheme and detail. Really creative idea though to make a bear into an iceberg
i believe that if Option #3 was evermore so simplified, that it would take away from the perception, makeup and continuity of the ice. On the other end of the spectrum, some logos need to be simplified, such as the Florida Panthers logo.
Mr.Dologmite: A polar bear is not out of place with Quebec though, also very common in the labrador part of newfoundland and labrador, heck, we even had them on the northern part of the island recently.
Number 3 is awesome, and I think number 2 would make a really good secondary logo.
#1: The logo designers had a goal: they wanted to make change come to the change of the IHA's changing process (the owners really like change-get it?)
#2: I like the ice-castle theme! Could be good as a third-jersey logo at least
#3: LOVE it-making a bear into a glacier. Only possible thing I could see wrong with it is the other team in the division called the Hartford Bears. Still, the logos are distinguishable enough where we could just have an ursal rivalry!
Sorry guys, the one that represents Quebec city the most is no2. Being a citizen of the "vieille capitale", I must say that I was impressed to see the Chateau Frontenac, one of the landmark of Quebec, in the logo. The logo also looks like a iceberg. With 567 cm ( almost 20 feet) of snow last winter, the city look like an iceberg alright. I also find it ingenious because it looks like a ski mountain and we have some decent ones here. Finally, a polar bear is nice. It makes you think North. But I'm soory to say but we don't have them in Quebec or nowhere close.
canontt,
i agree completely. it took me a moment to recognize that it wasn't an oddly shaped maple leaf (which might be one of the big reasons why it isn't doing better), but once i realized, it's definitely a fantastic logo.
the big difference seems to be that when teams are created, typically locals are the ones voting on logos. in our situation, a lot of that "local opinion" is lost. it's a flaw inherent in the contest, and unfortunately i don't know how it could be removed.
the bear is cool, it's a beautiful design that looks awesome, but it just doesn't represent the team as well as it should, in my opinion.
if we do end up making our own league here at icethetics, i REALLY think there should be user-submitted descriptions with each logo and team name, so that we can try impart a little more of that lost representation
Canontt and Hockey Week hit it right on the nose. I think hiding Chateau Frontenac concept as the glacier was pretty clever. That saying, I REALLY like the bear design, but it's a little random considering the geography and team name.
@ Hockey Week
I love that suggestion. Just limit it to like a max of 3 sentences or so. For instance, I noticed something off about what I at first thought was a maple leaf in #2. Then I noticed the flags on top of the tower and the whole logo became clear. But I didn't know what exactly it was supposed to be (I was thinking maybe capital building).
I voted for #3 however; it was just too good. Another great Mike Phoenix design.
#1 would be a nice secondary do to its clearness and simplicity.
I'm still campaigning the third Glacier logo be named the Bears' logo. Seriously, it looks more like a bear than any of the designs that were submitted to me.
Anyway, that one is just an awesome design, and one of the best I've seen in this whole IHA project. I absolutely love it!
As the creator of the "Fish Bear" from the Hartford poll, I must say to the creator of finalist #3...
I bow to your superior talent and design...I respect you, I admire you, I hate you, get out of here! :-)

All three are great! The artists all did very well this time. I'd like to see what didn't make the cut.
In addition to Chateau Frontenac in logo 2, I also liked how the letter can be either a Q or a G. I didn't see the G until I saw it a third time, and I thought it was so cool.
I think that 2 would be a great logo, but not on a jersey. Go the Rangers route by having 2 be the primary logo but have text on the jersey.
doesn't the bear have a glacier esk design in his coat?
Logo #2 is clearly the best. Im really surprise to see #3 way in front in the poll. It represents the city perfectly...
I really don't get hit for the 3rd one. People are complaining about the Preds' alternate logo... the polar bear reminds me of that Preds' logo. Plus it doesn't represent the city at all... and the name of the team is Glacier not Polar Bears.
As for the 1st one, I don't get it either... What does the red-white-red line represents? And the glacier looks like a mountain.
#2 should have won... hands down
