Wild Third Jersey Schedule

The Minnesota Wild have posted on their website the dates when they plan to sport their green alternate uniform. It will only be used at home.

Icethetics reader Ryan wrote in with a link to the team's Promotional Schedule, which notes each of the nights that the Wild will be wearing the third jersey, which debuted a year ago. The only difference this season is that the sweaters will have the Wild's 10th anniversary patch sewn onto the front.

The alternate jersey has already been used twice this month. Here is the complete 16-night schedule:

  • Sat., Oct. 16 - vs Columbus
  • Mon., Oct. 25 - vs Los Angeles
  • Tue., Nov. 2 - vs San Jose
  • Wed., Nov. 17 - vs Anaheim
  • Fri., Nov. 26 - vs Nashville
  • Thu., Dec. 16 - vs Ottawa
  • Sun., Dec. 26 - vs Detroit
  • Sun., Jan. 2 - vs Phoenix
  • Sun., Jan. 16 - vs Vancouver
  • Sat., Feb. 12 - vs St. Louis
  • Sun., Feb. 20 - vs Detroit
  • Mon., Feb. 28 - vs Chicago
  • Tue., Mar. 8 - vs Colorado
  • Sun., Mar. 20 - vs Montreal
  • Tue., Mar. 22 - vs Toronto
  • Sat., Apr. 2 - vs Tampa Bay

The Lightning are the only non-Canadian team in the Eastern Conference that will face the Wild in green. The Red Wings are the only team to face the green twice this year.

It's also worth noting that the Wild are planning to wear the third jersey 16 times this season. Previously, we were under the impression that the NHL set a limit of 15 games for an alternate uniform. Perhaps that's merely a suggestion.

Those jerseys are awesome.

Do you think they are getting around it by saying, they are wearing it against 15 different teams, but one team twice?

Looks good, but I still don't like that line around the shoulders. Either have a shoulder yoke, or don't.

Biggie, I literally laughed out loud when I read that one! Bettman does dumb things from time to time, but the league isn't stupid. Haha!

I agree that there shouldn't be piping around the yoke if the yoke itself isn't of a different color. And while I've railed against "vintage white", and this jersey would appear to have something similar to that, at least that "wheat" color has always been part of the Wild color scheme, since day one, so they get a pass. (I still think this one would pop more if it had white trim instead of wheat...)

I commented on the Avs post about how I thought twelve was too much for an alternate... well, sixteen is definitely too much! Although I wouldn't mind seeing a full switch in this case. I like the red jersey, but not as a primary. Maybe change out the logos, put the script on the red, and have some form of the bear's head on the green...

I find it silly, that they have league imposed limit as to how many games they're allowed to wear alternates. I mean, it's their jersey, they should be able do with it waht they want.

Needs more red. Also, here's a completely off-topic question : Are teams still allowed to use yellow for there away uniforms?

There's what, like 42 home games per team? Wear it more than 21 times and it ceases to be the alternate.

So, why can't teams have more 2 or more primary home uniforms, that they rotate around. I think they should.

I was trying to think like Bettman when I posted that. It is the easist excuse I could think of. It also helps that I have had to deal with Howard Baldwin's stupid excuses for the past two months.
