Wild Set Road Sweater Unveiling

New jersey will be revealed at state fair on Sept. 1
You know hockey season is getting close when jersey news starts heating up like it has lately. While we continue to monitor sneak peeks of the new sweaters from the Sabres and Sharks, we've learned the Minnesota Wild will join the fray next Monday.
The Wild announced a couple of things on their website today. First, they confirmed there will be a new road sweater this season and it will be officially unveiled at the Minnesota State Fair on Sept. 1 at 11:30 AM CT. But during the week leading up to that, they "will be unveiling snippets of the sweaters" via Twitter starting Aug. 26.

The unveiling event will feature newly acquired Wild forward Nino Niederreiter, forward Stephane Veilleux and Nordy. The Wild’s State Fair booth is located in the FAN Central building at the intersection of Dan Patch Avenue and Underwood Street. In addition to just seeing the new uniforms, fans can register to win a road jersey at the team’s booth in FAN Central each day of the fair.
The jersey will go on sale Sept. 3 at Hockey Lodge locations, according to the team.

Please, oh please, make it so that their road and home jerseys are no longer dissimilar.
Just want to say, Chris - I'm continually impressed how Icethetics keeps nailing every single uniform change in the NHL year in and year out, with news about it before anyone else.
There have been so many people surprised on social media by the Sharks teasers in the last 24 hours, yet we here at Icethetics have known about the new jerseys since January! Same deal with this Minnesota announcement - to most of the hockey world, it's breaking news all of the sudden, but we've had the inside scoop for months thanks this blog.

and THAT marketing departments of sabres and sharks is how to launch a new jersey. no 'teases'. set a date. reveal new jersey. done.
The Wild have one of the most original logos in all of sports. I am worried that they are going to dump it for something like the Iowa team is wearing. I hope not but it will probably happen.

@Brian Brideau: I keep meaning to get a new JerseyWatch posted. But it's my understanding the Canadiens have shelved plans to refresh their jerseys — at least for this year. So it sounds like you're safe for another season.
I hope the Wild make a white version of their green alternate. However, I really like their current bear head logo, and think the team should put that on the shoulder or something.
@Chris: Oh really? Where did you hear that?
@Brian: Couple of people. Not 100% on the sources, but my sense is it's probably accurate. My sense could also be wrong. We'll see how it all shakes out by October 1.
