One Million Hits!

Not to detract from the obvious big news of the day, but I wanted to mention that today, the blog broke the seven-digit barrier in the hits category.

I took that screenshot of my stats page earlier today. As of this moment, the all-time hit count is 1,051,336. You guys are really awesome! Thanks for visiting. If you'd like to show your support, click on any of the ads in the sidebar. I'd like to say any money I make will go back into the blog. But this blog doesn't cost anything to make.

So I've decided to spend it on a trip to Canada next year. I've always wanted to visit you guys up there. Florida sucks. And I figure there's no better way. Send me to Canada! Check out the ads, if you're so inclined.

Anyway, once again, thank you all for visiting. I've had a blast making this blog!

What the heck does pessmistic mean
But anyway congrats on your 1,000,000 page views hits, whatever they are

Dear Pessimistic Pete: You, my friend are a party pooper. How would you like me to distiguish between "hits" and "page views"? I'm having a parade today and while you may choose to rain on it, I still have an umbrella.

Honestly though, not being seriously in touch with these stats in the way of others, I actually don't know the difference. I always thought "hits" was slang terminology for "page views." Educate me if you wouldn't mind!

Thanks for the well-wishes. I've got a lot more to write so keep on coming back!

I'm just curious. What part of Canada are you thinking of visiting?

Congrats on your successful blog!

Thank you, belama!

At the moment, I'm thinking Vancouver. I've always been partial to the Pacific northwest. In part, I suppose, because I've always and forever lived in Florida which is as far away as you can get without departing the continent.

And being the hockey fan that I am, Toronto seems like an obvious choice what with the Hall of Fame and all. I need to make my pilgrimage one day like all good followers.

I've heard Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island are quite beautiful. So stops there wouldn't be out of the question. If I were rich and didn't have a job, I'd probably just make a trek all the way across the country. But neither of those things are true.

Anyway, I am open to suggestions, of course. Thanks for reading!

You should just go to Buffalo on New Year's Day to see the Sabres vs. Penguins outdoors game, and then spend the rest of the week in Canada.

I'd be able to die happy after a week like that. That's genius.

hey chris, a bunch of us thepensblog.com guys are going to niagara for new years eve and then going to buffalo for the game. email me if you're interested in meeting up while were out there (if you're thinking about going).

Congrats on the milestone.

You really should do the New Year's idea. Buffalo is going to be a good place to be on New Years, and Toronto is about 90 minutes away.

Let us know if you decide to do it, we can give you a few pointers on the area...

Chris I'm happy about your decision to go to Canada. You absolutely must see what a winter in hockey country means. I agree with you that Florida sucks. Here on Canada we don't have time to spend about war or petrol or whatsoever. We have hockey to watch and hockey to discuss.

You have to bring a good pair of skates. I live near three arenas and one outdoor ring. Nothing like a good sunday of -25, some four hours of hockey on the ring and a good game between Calgary and Edmonton aside a chemney. And some alcool maybe. Man you HAVE to live that.

I live near Quebec, so Montreal is the only club near my house. But that doesn't matter because Nordiques sucked and were cheaters anyway.

I repeat that you can make a trip here anytime. But be prepared to skate and to watch hockey. Apologies for the late post, but my job is keeping me busy.

I will send you pics of my home and my trees turning orange very soon.

WELCOME TO CANADA

Forgot to say in my last post that you should make a trip to Kenora, Canada. There is nothing like the small towns in Canada where everything is about hockey, we mean everything.

Also Kenora has a rich hockey tradition, afterall we did win the 1907 Stanley Cup, a team that featured Art Ross!

Go Canada!
