well said, they should've put the Sens against the Canucks in the first round. battle of who's fans can stack the vote the most! both teams and their logo are a joke.

Half of Quebec wants to seperate from Canada, so why is a Montreal team called the Canadiens?

If anyone stole from anything its the red wings who got the wings from a Montreal cycling team. Detroit is now known for crime and unemployment more then car industry.
Someone asking who the original six are is about as dumb as asking what does an orca have to do with Vancouver.
I think they are both okay logo's I just prefer blue(not colorless) of the Canucks over the red of the Wing's logo.
LOL! it seems a lot of Canucks fans are getting a little too uptight. i guess it's somewhat understandable for a team that has been in the league for over 30 years and has never won a cup. how many years will this logo last before you change it yet again?
the Thrasher is the state bird for Georgia. If you didn't know, Atlanta is in Georgia. Doesn't work for all of them buddy. GO WINGS!

as previously stated, the thrasher is the state bird of georgia. yes, there are panthers in florida, in fact:
"The Florida panther is a critically endangered representative of Cougar (Puma concolor) that lives in the low pinelands, palm forests and swamps of southern Florida in the United States." - wikipedia
the wild is a reference to minnesota's forests and wildlife and the like, and i wouldn't rule out ducks living in anaheim.

the ducks were named for the disney movie, and disney is based in so. cal.

the flames were named while in atlanta, for the famous fire (think gone with the wind), calgary just kept the name.
yes, there are of panthers in florida. it's a subspecies of the cougar. they live in the wetlands and are endangered. and get this, they're called "florida panthers". crazy, eh?
if you don't think minnesota is mostly wilderness, you've never been.
maybe montreal's the other half of quebec that doesn't want to defect? at least they spell "canadians" the french way.
the only reason there's an orca on the canucks jersey is because they're owned by orca bay. and personally, to me, the "C" doesn't really look like montreal's "C". it looks more like the chicago bear's "C".

Detroit Metro population - 4,468,966
Vancouver Metro Population - 2,187,721
People say you should only be able to vote once and that would make the "contest" more legit. Since Detroit's population is twice that of Vancouver's that means, solely by the numbers, Detroit should have twice as many hockey fans as Vancouver. So if most Detroit fans vote for their logo (let's face it MOST people vote for their team) they would win just because they have a higher population. But THAT'S OK?
Look, I'm not from Vancouver, but I think the Canucks have the most passionate and loudest fans in the NHL. If they want to vote for their logo, who's to stop them. If Detroit fans were half as passionate as Canuck fans, they could easily stuff the ballots and win. BUT THEY AREN'T!
p.s. Newsflash.... just because Detroit is an original six team, does not automatically mean that they should win this round. People say the Canuck logo sucks because of it coloring..... last time I checked the Red Wing was only one color....RED! Honestly, the wheel with a wing is really a weird logo. You've just seen it around longer so you assume its a better one.

And in other news, the new Vancouver "Orca" logo is being beaten badly by several other retired Canucks logos in Chris's vintage logo poll. Even the generic "hockey stick" logo worn by the pathetic expansion team back in 1970 is beating Orca... but Orca is better than the classic Red Wings logo?

To the comment about the "generic stick"logo beating the Orca, Alot of people liked that one better last year when it came "Retro" but it was HATED when it first came out, What does that tell you!?!? That people take time as being good, something "Classic" has to be better, Thats why everyone thinks the Redwings should win, "oh they've kept the same logo for sooo long, i dont care if its a stupid tire, Its classic" If i take a crap and leave it in the tiolet for a few days, its not doing to get better because its "classic"

The Canucks have the sorriest logo history in the entire NHL, starting with the hockey stick, onto the jagged boot, and finally Orca the Wannabe-Canadien-Whale.
GIVE IT UP! Your childish fan base can't figure out what it likes because EVERYTHING in Canucks logo history flat out sucks.

I hate the face that the Canucks logo is beating the classic Wings logo. It makes absolutely no sense. But in the long run does it really matter. The Wings clearly have a better logo and are a far supperior team past and present. Canucks won't even make the playoffs this year, so they'll have extra time this off season to change their logo for the 5th time! Keep trying guys.
A lot of (side) arguments have been made on both sides of this poll. Really, none of them matter. Only design does.
The Canucks have a branding issue, a design identity crisis. This has been painfully obvious to hockey fans, especially their own, for decades. On the flipside, the Wings have always enjoyed great support for their design. That longstanding approval, based on design, makes their logo classic.
What's causing this commotion is the lack of honesty in voting for the best logo design. It's not about which team you like, or even dislike, more. This poll is about design. Period.
This lack of honesty has really ruined the fun for everyone.
