Blues, Kings 3rd Jersey Skeds
Monday · Oct 26 · 2009 | 8:39 AM PDTSeveral teams have their third jersey schedules posted on their web sites. With the help of you, the readers, I've been trying to compile them all here in the sidebar calendar. Thanks to Icethetics reader Allan, we have two more teams to add to the list.
The St. Louis Blues, who introduced their new alternate sweater last fall, will wear it for 15 home games this season. In fact, we already missed the first two times — this past Saturday included.
Anyway, here's the full schedule for your enjoyment.

Basically, if you're a Blues fan and you want to catch them in the third jersey, just buy tickets to a Saturday game and you're good to go.
The Los Angeles Kings also have their third jersey schedule listed on their web site and like the Blues, introduced the new sweater last season. It was worn 12 times in 2008-09 and will see action for 15 home contests in 2009-10.

For the Kings, the third will see action on mostly Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and will primarily see divisional opponents. Anaheim, San Jose and Dallas will all face the Kings alternate sweater every time they visit L.A. this season.

habs players used 'leather' colour gloves during practice yesterday. we'll probably see these gloves in the oct 31st game vs toronto.

leather colour pants would look amazing.
I like the LA 3rd jersey, but I'm a fan of them using the color purple. It's part of the team's history and it's a color no one else is using, so it helps them stand out. On a personal level, I like this logo better, but would have prefered the jersey being purple instead of black, with the logo staying the way it is. A nice mix of puple and silver.
As for the Blues, the logo is nice, but the jerseys are ok. It's another navy blue jersey that doesn't stand out really. Everytime they've worn those 3rd jerseys, I never knew it was them playing. I had to look at the scoreboard at the top of the screen to know it's St. Louis playing.
For the record, I'm a fan of team's using colors and jersey designs that helps them stand out from everyone else in he league. Examples are: Philly with their orange jerseys, Pittsburgh with their arctic blue, Atlanta with their baby blue, Phoenix with their burgundy, Vancouver with their mix of blue/green, Calgary with their retro orange/red, Edmonton with their retro blue/orange, and I can keep going.
Those are jerseys that grab you the instant you see them.
Don't know why there'd be excitement over a Kings 3rd jersey schedule.
In my opinion, their original 'crown' jerseys were awesome....especially the road purple.
Every one after that has been a disappointment instead of an upgrade.
The letters LA over a tiny little crown incased in a 'homeplate' badge. Seriously.

Yes, the Blues wore their 3rds for their home game at the Globe.

Personally, I prefer the Blues' thirds over their regular jerseys, only because I absolutely detest those ridiculously oversized shoulder panels and the piping that arches down the front. The thirds do lose their distinctiveness in that the Blues aren't using yellow (gold) numbers, though. If St. Louis does decide to make a change again, basing their regular designs on their thirds, then I do hope they bring back the gold numbers.
kinda confused as to why the new team canada jersey information i sent in didn't qualify for news but the day that teams wear the third jersey they released last year is.

33 of their 41 home games are on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. They always do this every year. When you have to compete with the Lakers and Clippers for time at the arena, it's just convenient. The Lakers play a couple home Sunday games every month, and the Kings played their only home Sunday game of the season this past weekend.
Great work..what of the Sabres 3rd jersey schedule ?? So far, the team announces their "next home game" at sabres.nhl.com each time they post a photo of a player..and so far the photo has been correct to the jersey they will wear...Example. next home game is 10/30 and the photo shows a Sabre in the 3rd jersey..Thus they will probably go 3rd jersey for that game..which would be the 3rd time this year..only 12 occassions left ?? !!
The Kings should have brought back the classic purple and gold at least as a third. Yes, Gretzky wore the black, silver, and white, but purple and gold are unique and they truly define royalty.
How come all the Fans see it..... but the Kings organization doesn't?
They've been gettin it wrong since they switched to Raiders black & silver!

The Kings 3rd is sick. they should make them the primary jersey. Then Logo is much better too. It should become the primary as well.
