Preds 3rd Leaked at Concert

The Nashville Predators used a country music concert to leak their new third jersey last night at the Sommet Center.
According to Preds fan blog Section 303, singer Taylor Swift made a wardrobe change for her encore — donning the yet unseen alternate sweater. Preds forward Steve Sullivan even hinted at the surprise via Twitter last night.

Section 303 nabbed a photo from a giant video screen so obviously it lacks in quality in terms of detail. For that, we'll probably still have to wait until next Thursday.
I don't think anybody but a couple of 11-year-olds in the front row actually got a good look at it. Still, we can make out some of the basic features. It actually looks a lot like the mockup that was based off of one fan's alleged early look at the jersey.
It looks to be dark blue, with fewer colors on the crest, white stripes around the waist and sleeves, and laces at the collar. It's too difficult to make out whether that checkerboard pattern is present. (Section 303 says it's not but didn't provide any photographic evidence.)
What the earlier "leak" failed to incorporate was the the new circular logo that appears to be on the shoulders. It looks like the primary logo enclosed in a heavy circle — similar to the logo on the Wild's home jersey.
Predators owner David Freeman certainly wasn't lying about the Original Six feel of the jersey — aside from the glaringly modern logo on the front of the sweater, of course.
In fact, Jeremy at Section 303 points out, it's practically a carbon copy of the Maple Leafs' classic uniforms. That will probably hurt it's originality score.

Remember, the official unveiling takes place at the Sommet Center this Thursday prior to the Preds' preseason game against the Thrashers. We'll have much better photos to look at then.

I should have said something to you, but Steve Sullivan posted on his Twitter that there was a special surprise at that show last night, and I figured it would be the third. He tweeted about it before that too, citing that he had seen it and the fans would really like it.
if you look really closely you can make out the checker pattern on the bottom, or maybe thats just my amazing eyesight. or i'm halucinating.
I see checkers.
Even messing with the levels in Photoshop, I can't tell if the checkerboard pattern is there or not.
It kind of looks like a leaf jersey.

In addition to that, if the preds can have those 2 stripes at the bottom of their jersey, why couldn't the leafs?

I love this jersey if it doesn't have the checkers on the front of it. It looks very similar to the Leafs' jersey, in a darker shade, but that's not a very bad thing. It looks vintage, yet modern.
I don't care so much about originality. The Blues based their third jersey crest on the Wild home jersey, and it's my favorite third jersey of the 18 introduced last year. I don't want everybody to use that pattern, but it wasn't a bad idea for them to use it. I don't think this jersey looking like the Leafs jersey is going to lessen my opinion of it. I'd certainly like it more than their current jerseys. In fact, all their non-mustard yellow jerseys have been too busy for my taste, with too many stripes and alternating colors. This is a nice change for me.

If the logo on the sleve is the current primary logo in a circle it woud look better on the front. It would make it look even more classy/retro. Also notice the string on the collor love it!
There are some pictures out there were the sleeves came unrolled, and there is some more stripe work there. Its still impossible to tell if there are any checkers, but I get the feeling that there aren't any.
As a Preds fan who loves the mustard, this jersey is pretty sweet. When they mention an Original 6 style and a retro feel, there are only a handful of teams it can really borrow from anyway, without looking too over done. It appears as though the shoulder patch is the skull logo, only smaller and encircled. I would have liked a little touch of the sport gold trim, but a fairly monochrome feel will work too, especially with a simplified design. Hope there are not any checkers!!
I'd buy it............if it came with Taylor Swift.

My question, is the logo minus the silver, orange and yellow? Just shades of blue and white?
I wish they would have done something with a new design, less busy, crest logo. It looks odd on such a "plain" jersey.

Not impresse ... would have prefere a little touch of yellow, maybe 1 single line somewhere.
And the head/logo (one of the owrst in the NHL) seems lonely on the jersey... its missing something?
