New Rebrand On The Way
Wednesday · Mar 26 · 2008 | 2:31 PM PDTThought I'd let you guys know our friend Matt is hard at work on his next rebrand. His series has impressed a lot of people and shown us in a dramatic way what many teams are missing in terms of good logo and uniform design.
Back to the point, though. His next team is... (drum roll)... the Tampa Bay Lightning. Yes, my team! Expect to see the design posted here some time in the next few weeks. In the meantime, feel free to check out his previous work.

Man... I think the NHL/Reebok should of hired this guy for the redesigns in the first place
Matt, your designs are insane!!! They beat at least 80% of what RBK has thrown at us. As a fellow rebrand artist, I'd love a copy of the template you use for the uni kits. Keep up the great art man!

I loved most of his designs from before... the only ones i wasnt to crazy about are the Caps and the Sharks... i like the way their uniforms look now. but i love the devils and the panthers tweaked logos... i doubt the devils would use they demon but its still cool.
there should be one on the sabres!
i agree. i really would like to see what matt could do with a sabres rebrand. hopefully something along the lines of the old logo and not the slug. either way, great job and cant wait to see what he has for the lightning.
matt. do you think you can post a template you use?
I had forgotten about his Bruins design and it's general awesomeness. I like what the B's have now, but if they were desperate for a "modern" look, I'd want to see that.
hmm im hoping his lightning rebrand takes the "tampa bay" text out of the logo. I've always thought the Shazam or Flash thunderbolt design sans text would be a good direction to go in.

That's a very good question. It was something I was working really hard on a few months ago, but unfortunately it's very difficult to get people to cooperate in an internet project. I may try to re-launch it at some point in the future.
By the way, I don't mean to take away from the members of the group that were a big help. They know who they are and that I appreciate their work... and they will be called on again soon.
Anyway, just know that I'm working on ideas to get the Expert Panel going again in some form. I'll let you know where I land with that.
I was wondering what happened to this guy. Hope he does the Stars after the Lightning.
Crap in a hat, those redesigns are awesome! I can't wait to see what he can do with the Bolts, considering (IMO) they've never really had a good visual identity.
Can't wait till he does the Sabres...
