NAJ got my vote here, just because it looks the most intimidating. MAC was a close second because its something really different. I gotta say I was a little disappointed with this set overall
Have to go to 4 sets:
Creativity votes:
NAJ & MAC... necessarily not the sets i wish to s on the ice but love the designs!!
Other 2 votes goes to scb and nsb. Somewhat close to what i wanted to accomplish but in my point of view a bit cleaner than my contribution
Thanks for the vote Harrison,
I wanted to do something unique with this set, and wanted to present something that has not been done in the previous jersey sets that have been selected.
Also, I was trying to draw on some of hockey's rich history, even though this a modern, imagined league, with no history. I tried to yoke together this heritage look with a nautical theme to create a faux-back jersey. It turned out looking a bit "rugby" but I am really okay with that, as rugby is a sport which is also near and dear to my heart.
I think that the Blue Crabs' logo really dictates that there be a lot of curves in any jersey design, and as such, my favorites of this set are NSB, SCB, and BEG, in no particular order.
The arm and side stripes on NSB's are really something, although I wish that the curve they create continued on from the front of the jersey to the back, rather than creating a point and then mirroring themselves. The arm stripes in particular; now that I look at it more closely , I realize that the side stripe makes a shape that could be considered a crab claw!
The plethora of curved lines on SCB's design make me very happy! The white lines (on the dark jersey; light blue on the light) on the ends of the arms seem to be a very aesthetically pleasing width to me, although the color contrast certainly pops a lot more on the dark than on the light jersey.
The underarms are what really drew me in with BEG's design, and I think that the shape of those colored areas just fit the team really well, in some way that my brain can't articulate but that just feels right to me. The design of the shoulder, too, is unlike anything I've ever seen before, while the different widths of the straight stripes keep them visually interesting.
Big props to MAC for going way out on a limb, and to NAJ for being insanely talented. MAC's design, however, seems just a little bit too out there to be the Blue Crabs' main jersey, and I still think that the team needs lots of curved lines. As an alternate jersey someday, though (or maybe for the Mariners! We'll see...), I think it would look incredibly classic! NAJ's is incredibly intimidating, and is certainly something that I lack the artistic skill, not to mention vision, to create, but it feels like there's just a bit too much happening.
I think WJN' and MAC's are definately my favorite designs in this batch. I just think the stripes work really good for some reason.
