IceHL 2013 Jersey Evaluations

Despite a 24-hour delay, the IceHL's 13 Weeks of R&R is wrapping up. In the final week, you will judge more than 300 jersey designs submitted for our 11 rebranded teams.

The goal of 13 Weeks of R&R was to begin on April 13 and wrap up on July 13. That's still the goal. That means we have only four days of voting and a lot of entries to go through. So it'll be a two-part process with each part taking two days. On Tuesday and Wednesday, you'll rate all 301 submissions. On Thursday and Friday, new polls will go up featuring only the top-rated designs. Then on Saturday, I will unveil the winners.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask and feel free to share your thoughts on each team's set of submissions in the comments on each page. Happy voting!

I'm a bit depressed by what I've seen in the votings, it seems that people only like the ''safe, NHL-like'' designs. I thought the whole point of this league was to stand out from the rest and have unique teams, not double or triple stripes that we see everywhere in real life (which is fine in the NHL, but that's beside the point).

I think the Olympiques had the best overall. Also, how will the ones the advance be decided? I would guess just most thumbs up.

Wow this really amazes me that there are so many different concept across the board! I think it's really cool that a lot of concepts are not the traditional striping and shoulder yokes combo, and I'm a little sad that our need for traditionalism keeps them from rising to the top, but then again at the end of the day I guess the question we should be asking out selves when we look at each jersey is "Would I be willing to buy this, and wear it?"

The overwhelming negative votes doesn't surprise me (very few of these designs are marginally getting thumbs up_.
Too many of these look similar (and I know the attention is in the details), but for the most part, it makes this whole "re-branding" foolish...

(then again, it IS all make believe...)

I'm not going to lie, I'm a huge traditionalist. I'm never been huge on the power ranger stripes and waves on newer style jerseys. I'm a Sabres fan and I've had to deal with some god awful jerseys. My fave looks right now have to be like Coyotes, New stars, Amerks, the sabres 40th ann. jersey, Peterborough Petes.

I agree with Matt... A recolored version of a traditional template is pretty much a sure winner. Anything a little "out-of-the-box" is automatically downvoted to death. But oh well...

By the way congrats to all the designers who came up with some pretty cool stuff once again.

As a rookie, not surprised that pretty much all of my designs are getting blown away (I think my best so far is 90-120), but I'm glad I get to be part of this, especially with all of these cool designs. Just hope that every team doesn't end up with a traditional-looking jersey.

Well I just got my butt kicked. Congrats to the other designers. Not a bad jersey in the group.

I fell that most of the designs aren't being respected nearly as much as they should be. There will never be that perfect design that we want, but no way should only 3 or 4 jersey kits be in the positive caregory. Being a designer myself it took a lot of free time and a lot of trial and error to make these designs. I'm not saying that each design should have more thumbs up than thumbs down, but i think at least 50% deserve it and they aren't being respected enough.

I feel like the IceHL really likes the Montreal Canadiens-esque middle stripe, and I'd be careful that too many teams don't end up with it. Becomes a lot less interesting and special.

I also find it kind of weird that traditional designs are cleaning house when it was the outside the box jerseys winning most of the votes last time around. But oh well I suppose, the traditional designs do look pretty nice and there's not a single bad jersey in any of these polls. Nice job everyone!

I want to thank all of the designers for their effort -- it's you guys, not the voters that really make this site work. When I saw a design I liked (most of which were non-traditional) I gave a thumbs up. I left the rest alone...how could anyone give someone a thumbs down for trying?

i believe lumberjacks and chargers have the best options. the olympiques designs kind of make me cross eyed looking at them all.

It's true what you're saying: I find a lot of jerseys really nice but people are giving them bad grades.
It's really funny the way people in the comments are all saying the same things and sharing the same ideas but in the polls we are always the minority ...

This might have worked better if each jersey could be ranked on a scale of 1 to 5 just like the concepts section. This is because there might be a jersey that only has a small flaw in it, but because of that small flaw everyone down votes it, even though in reality it is a 4 star jersey. The thumbs up/down is good for selecting a jersey, but it is harder for people who want too know what they did wrong in the jersey to be able to tell how much they would have needed to change because a jersey with 2 flaws and a jersey with 10 flaws could each get 300+ down votes.
