Lightning, Ducks Swap AHL Affiliates
Earlier this week, the Tampa Bay Lightning announced a new AHL affiliation agreement with the Syracuse Crunch. That will lead the Anaheim Ducks to align with the Bolts' former affiliate and 2012 Calder Cup champion Norfolk Admirals in the fall.
I've since gotten a lot of questions about whether either of the Crunch or Admirals will redesign their jerseys to match their new NHL affiliates. The short answer is: I don't know. The funny answer is this...
Obviously, I just made this graphic for fun. I have no reason to believe either team will change their colors. If they were to do any sort of redesign, I don't see it happening this season. But I'll keep an eye on it, of course.
Meantime, what do you think about the new color treatments I gave the Crunch and Ads?

Well that will be an odd banner raising ceremony in Norfolk next year...
I heard a rumor that Syracuse was thinking of going back to their inaugural logo this season. Not sure if this will change now that they swapped affiliates, though.
I could see the Crunch changing, given that they did so to better match the Ducks colours. The Crunch would probably work going back to their colour scheme from the Blue Jackets days.
The Crunch look better in blue than they did in orange and bronze, but the logo is still goofy looking. The Admirals redesign wouldn't be noticed at all if it was just the logo, and their jerseys didn't look anything like the Lightning anyway.
Syracuse changed colors from blue and red with Columbus to gold and orange with Anaheim a couple years ago so it seems safe to say that they will get rid of the Ducks colors
Those new colour schemes look great! Though I can see Syracuse doing that, I doubt Norfolk does. They haven't really cared if they match their parent club.
As PJersey said though... that'll be awkward net season. Maybe 4 carry overs from the championship team. It'd be nice if Norfolk/Syracuse could play each other for the ceremony game.
Syracuse has already said they are unveiling a completely new logo and colors on July 2nd I believe.
I doubt the Ads will drastically change. They've been blue/gold since their ECHL days, even if red is a recent addition.
