Hershey Bears Unveil New Logo!

It's official. The AHL's Hershey Bears unveiled their revamped look this afternoon, which includes all new logos and uniforms. The new image is all about making old new again.

A team video unveiling the new look, says it's all about going back to chocolate and white again. But the way I see it, less is more and this new set of logos looks positively incredible. Take a look at some of the alternate and secondary marks.

Definitely beats the old logo — by a lot! Naturally, the new look was created by The Joe Bosack Graphic Design Co. (As though it could've been anyone else.) Bosack is also responsible for, well, just about every good modern sports logo out there.

The Bears' new color scheme also puts the 2013 Outdoor Classic logo into context. Hershey will be hosting the event this season.

So what do you think of this new look for the Hershey Bears?

It is absolutely gorgeous! I'm a big fan of the new look. Do you think they were looking at your site to get inspiration for the colors? ;)

Instant classic!

It's better than their old one no doubt, but being a Bears fan my whole life it just doesn't scream Hershey Bears to me. I love the colors, but I think they should have switched permanently back to the skating bear. That's Bears hockey to me.

The "Bears" in this logo looks almost exactly like the "Winnipeg" in the Jets old logo from the 80's.

I hate the Bear's feet. If they fixed that it would be a good logo. It is miles ahead of the old logo, but the Skating Bear logo is still my fav.

I think the bear head secondary would make a better main logo with the crest as a secondary. Overall though, I love this logo set.

How in the world this logo looks "almost exactly" like old Jets logo I don't know but I think it's great. If I was visiting the area I might even buy some merchandise.

Great hockey logo! Need more of this!

I don't get a sense of dynamic energy, movement or speed from the primary... the bear is angry, but his paws look planted in a defensive posture and he looks more like he's barking than menacing. It doesn't say hockey to me in a modern sense, nor does it really have the presence of a more pared-back classic mark either. It's kind of one foot in, one foot out for me.

The positioning of the stick is awkward, too... he's sort of holding it, sort of stepping on it, dragging it along the floor... it looks like an afterthought or a product of a client-mandate, especially in that secondary mark.

The patches are fine, colors evoke Hershey Co.. the real standout is that Outdoor Classic mark.

Terrific looking set. I'm particularly interested in the alternate logo featuring the whole bear and hockey stick which were skewed in relation to the primary logo to provide some depth perspective.

And let's not forget about the colours, which look very appetizing.

Well done!

looks like the secondary will be used as the main crest on the alternates

I agree with the other Ryan. I hate the bears feet, but I love the rest of it. What a great logo! Awesome colours.

The logo is great but the Reebk jersey piping just kills the look of the sweater.

@tokyo2la: What I meant by the similarities of the "Bears" and "Winnipeg" was the font of Bears and Winnipeg. It is very similar. That was the similar part I was referring to. That is the reason I quoted Bears and Winnipeg was to try and refer people to that part of the logo. If you pay attention, the styles of the font is very very similar.

Error : "Less it more " should obviously be "Less is more " not a big deal just thought i'd let ya know :)

Great work by the artist on these logos. Distinguished. I wish more minor franchises went for 'distinguished' instead of some of the silly logos. I can't wait to see how these look in their sweaters.

It looks like the bear is either constipated suffering PMS.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, this was a fun project and I think we got it right.

Yawn, Boston Bruins ripoff... This is and will always be in my mind, the perfect Hershey uniform:

Those are horrible. If you want to celebrate your past why would you change your jersey colour to black. Hershey has so many great jerseys from the past why would they do this. This is what I would expect from an expansion team not one with a great tradition.

secondary looks like the Solar Bears secondary, the Boise State look
