Why the BIG ASS VANCOUVER across the chest????

Well, at least there's no bizarre striping on these new ones. But yes, it's a shame they used the wordmark. Have the Canucks joined the WCHA of the NCAA? (unfortunately it looks collegiate).

I guess they are so dumb in vancouver that they keep forgetting where they are from so the have to put it right on the jersey so they wont forget

WHY!!! GOD!!! Vancouver across the top not needed, otherwise not bad, but still a big let down. Why not go back to the retro C/hockystick/rink. It's simple.

You people obviously don't play hockey - these are great sweaters. Classic old school feel with new age curb appeal. Word marking has been missing from the NHL for a long time. Hopefully the Dallas word mark rumors are true. ps. For those of you who don't like the fit of rbk edge, you simply don't know what your talking about. Ive played in them - they are revolutionary.

Stars?

Aug 29 · 1:19 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

it seems like a kid designed it. The nostalgia for the old colors it's so boring, let's move on! look at the blue jackets, the improved that shitty logo they had...The "VANCOUVER" on chest it's one of the lamest ideas on a hockey jersey after the big " V" era..hope the nuck will find an identity in future...

if it was "just a jersey"... the canucks organization wouldn't have spent $1 Million on it...

these are horrible... i'll still cheer for my canucks... i'll just close my eyes doing it.

The city is nice....and the jersey and fans are ugly

Aug 29 · 1:20 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

it looks like nonis barfed up that design after eating at tsu hang village

Aug 29 · 1:20 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

ouch.. that Vancouver above the chest is pretty bad.

First of all, I'll give the Canucks credit for not giving in to the trendy RBK style that has plagued other jerseys. There is trim on the bottom and there is no ugly piping down the sides. Hooray!

Having said that, this jersey looks like a bunch of ideas all rolled into one. It's like they couldn't decide if they liked VANCOUVER across the front or the Orca, so they chose both. With the exception of the New York Rangers, word marks on the front of a hockey jersey are a huge no no!

You'd think they would have just switched to the real vintage jersey, with the evolved stick in the rink logo. Vancouver sticking to something that's popular? Nah, too much logic in that.

"DO YOU GUYS HONESTLY NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THE WORD "VANCOUVER" IS THERE FOR HISTORICAL REASONS?
You guys are idiots...."

Yea man, I get it. It still looks stupid though, as it doesn't fit with the modern logo.

Speaking of that, who decided that a stylized, curved C would look good with horizontal stripes?

All them Asians live in Vancouver, and yet you design such an lucky logo and jersey...ship'em back

Aug 29 · 1:22 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

BARF.

RBK Edge strikes again. The NHL is going from having some of the best looking uniforms in all of sports to having the ugliest by far.

Aug 29 · 1:23 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

I hope They didnt pay alot for someone to make that design because i have seen alot better ones that people do just for fun. Just One word needs to be said for the new jersey

SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aug 29 · 1:23 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

I think they could have been a lot worse and we should be thankful for a few positives out of it. The colours and the horizontal old school stripe pattern is fantastic. How many teams still have classic horizontal stripes?
The 'Vancouver' is a real retro thing going back to before the 50s. So many teams back then had similar lettering. People just aren't used to it and it could start a trend.

1 - love the colors
2 - hate the "Vancouver" lettering
3 - should have made the stick logo the primary and the orca the secondary logo

Aug 29 · 1:24 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

a curved 'C'? really... whats that

what stars white jersey?? is there a new leak?

Aug 29 · 1:25 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

Maybe it's seeing it with goalie pads, maybe it's my metro-sexual attraction to Luongo, but I like the way the wordmark looks in that picture.

Aug 29 · 1:27 PM PDT | Unregistered Commenterk.d.

so i guess Canadian teams only wear red or blue now

Aug 29 · 1:27 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

You had a chance to bring back Johnny Canack, and yet you bring back that stupid ass Free Willie Whale.

Aug 29 · 1:28 PM PDT | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

Well, I was prepared to hate it, but I have to say I think the new look is killer. It has a retro look, especially with the wordmark. These jerseys look tough compared to a lot of the other new "stylish" ones. This is a hockey team, not a modeling agency.
