The fact that the Oliers are actually are in a slight lead proves that this is not a vote about logo's but a popularity contest of which TEAM is more liked not which LOGO which is what the competition is about. I mean Come'on there are people in all of sports that say the red indian head sweater may be the best jersey in ALL OF SPORTS!
You're foolish to think the oilers logo is even close to the hawks logo.

So because you and some people in sports say it is the best logo means that I have to agree with you? I personally think the Habs logo is the best. Do I care if you vote for the Habs? No. Quit your friggin cryin as it isn't going to make a bit of difference who people vote for.

Does your point make any sense? I think what Jack said was correct in the circumstance that this vote should not be nearly this close. The fact that many people consider this to be a top 5 sweater in the nhl and overall jersey in all of pro sports clearly shows this poll is biased. I don't think he cares how you vote, I think he was making a point. You do not have to agree, but from a logo prespective this should not be nearly as close of a vote as it is.
Lol this is funny. The statement "best logo" or "best jersey" is completely subjective. Even basic design principles can fall wayside to subjective opinion. It's an internet poll, take it for what it is. If you think one logo is better than the other, explain why - don't try to tell other people how they should be voting.

As far as the more "modern" logos the Oilers is one of the best in the NHL hands down.
However for those who think the Hawks logo has never gone through changes you need to do a background check on that one. The concept is the same as the very first logo but it is much different in design.
I vote the Hawks logo for two reasons. One is the detail on it. It's not overly busy detail it is just the right amount. And Secondly with the tomahawks on the shoulders that logo looks even that much better. It's a perfect compliment to the logo. Not that it couldn't stand alone though.

Yes his post makes sense.I think you just reiterated his point by saying he does not have to agree. Nor do any of the people who are voting for the Oilers logo. Maybe in your eyes you think the Blackhawks logo is a better logo and that this shouldn't even be close. Everyone has different preferences.

Based on where the teams got their names from, the Blackhawks would be a shoo-in for the point here. I'm not really sure what Oilers has to do with the city of Edmonton, but we already discussed the background of the Blackhawks. For that reason, the 'Hawks get the edge, but really only barely.

So if you're rating it based on aesthics, Chris says vote Oilers. Blackhawks if you're a history buff... tho, i suppose if your in your age 20-40, Oilers have a better recent history too.
i like the oiler's logo, but it just doesn't compare to the blackhawks.

If the Hawks had the fanbase they had 15 years ago they would easily win...this poll is just oiler fans versus hockey fans, except the enlightened ones that picked the hawks, showing great class and smarts.

Is this a serious comment? Northern Alberta is probably has more oil than saudi arabia. Hence the Oil Country slogan.
Personally i just think the Oilers Colors are alot nicer than Chicago's. I do like the reasoning behind the blackhawks logo but i just think the oilers is classier and yeah it gets my vote.
I don't get the argument of the Hawks logo not having a signature colour. That argument is a stretch in my mind. Since when did a logo have to have one signature colour? Colours are used together to compliment each other if matched well which is what the hawks logo does.
Besides at my count the Hawks logo has six coulours and the Oilers has 4. Not that big of a difference if you ask me.

I like the Oilers color scheme better (it's simple), and there’s something classy about having the team's name right on the jersey.

Um... I think you're saying that makes the Blackhawks better? I could be wrong, please correct me if I am. But I think a large part of being a good logo that can stand the test of time is being simple. Simplicity in detail and minimalism is trait consistent among many of todays top artists and designers. Oilers have Blackhawks beat if you mean more "appealing" detail.

That is too much for me personaly. When I say detail I am NOT talking about the same relm as art and design amist the world of fine arts. I am speaking about SPORT LOGOS!!!!
Your argument about logos lasting the test of time because of simplicity is counter productive seeing that the Hawks logo is one of the oldest in sports. And by your theory it shouldn't have lasted the test of time because of it's detailed nature. Guess what? It has lasted the test of time so your argument......weak!!
The Oilers logo is already out of style. 70's faux colors? come on.
The Indian head, in my biased opinion is the best the sports world has ever known, but the sweater as a whole is even better. Red, white, and black, it has been said a thousand times that this color combo is the most powerful of all. So it is perfect for a sports team.

All that aside, I like the logo even though it doesn't look anything like Black Hawk's portraits. I try to keep in mind though that he was in his sixties when he was captured and had lost much of his hair by then. The Oilers logo I can't stand because of the lettering, too dated and 70's looking.
