Tournament Notes Most of the above polls feature duplicate logos, in essence, so that voters can decide which background color should be used in the tournament. ... Next week, the winning logos here will go up against any alternate shoulder logo a team may have. ... Some voters have complained about primary logos worn on the shoulders being included. My only advice is to let your vote be your voice in this case.

I'm disappointed the Sharks aren't going to have their fin logo in this tournament, That is such a good logo to be wasted by the team.
I think the Blackhawks have the best shoulder patch. I think the Islanders is funny though. Does anyone know what the lines mean or symbolize?

Answers:
To NoahGretskey, that's quite a lot of exclamation points. So you said "pick the color the team uses more," right? You must know that every team plays an equal number of home and road games. Not to mention, some people might say certain logos look better on white than a color. Plus, some of the logos are slightly different (Boston, Chicago, Buffalo) between the homes and roads.
There was a big hullabaloo when I put the Ducks logo on orange instead of black in the NHLToL. To avoid that this time, I'm letting you guys pick. Anyway, we need a week of low-impact polls to get us back into the swing of things.
To Matt Defer, it's not a logo. It's a provincial flag. If the team can't trademark it, it doesn't belong in this competition.
And to Leafs Fan, the rules of this tournament are that the logos had to be in use during the 2009-10 season. I already have the entire tourney schedule completed anyway, and I'd rather not have to do that all over again.
Chris what about the Panthers's FLA 3rd patch and their home/ away shoulder patch?

To Dan, the home/road vs. alternate shoulder logo polls happen in Preliminary Round 2 — next week. For the Panthers, there are no color options for this round. The sun/palm logo is on red for both home and road sweaters. That logo will go up against the FLA logo from the thirds in the next round of voting.
Just to clarify, the Coyotes have two different shoulder logos on their third jersey, that's why they are in this round. Next week the winner will go up against the PHX logo. And the Stars use their primary mark on their home and alternate jerseys, which are different colors. That why they're here this week. Next week, the winner will face the Texas logo from the road jerseys.
Hope all that makes sense. If it doesn't, don't worry about it. Just come back and vote every week. I'll handle the rest.
where are the blackhawk's thrid patch? seems like your missing a few, but no matter. the caps will win anyway.
To Hollywood, none are missing. Read up on the format if you're unclear about why some logos are in polls this week and others are not.

Is it wrong that I like the islanders secondary logo.
Islanders have a very good secondary logo, I like it too.
Apparently people really, really don't like white backgrounds.
Am I the only one who notices two hockey sticks in the Thashers secondary logo?
@Lightning25 holy Crap! I never notices that until you pointed it out. I now have some newfound appreciation for an otherwise hideous logo.
i actually really like the thrashers secondary logo, it's one of my favs and i think they should use it as the main crest, am i the only one who thinks this?
How bout a best wordmark tournament? Examples could be the logos on top of the Blues and the Red Wings websites. I thought it sounded cool but it could just be me.
wow, now that you mention it chris, never noticed that the chicago axes varied colors depending on the jersey. i'm a lil sad that the home stick-in-rink is winning (i liked the original white rink format on blue jersey - more contrast), so i voted for the road partly on principle.
The Islanders logo is four stripes, one for each Stanley Cup won made to look like nautical devices.
one of my favourite shoulder patches was the canucks stick'n'rink with the orca colour scheme. there are so many great patches that arent used today that could almost be a tournament of vintage patches
