Preliminary Round 2
Tournament Notes This week is the second of two elimination rounds, assuring that when voting is complete, no team will have more than one secondary logo left in the tournament. ... The Islanders, Sabres and Capitals winning shoulder logos were determined after last week's voting. That is now reflected on the Standings page.

As much as I think the B is better than the bruin, the A is better than the bigfoot and the Senator is not as good as the O. I think the Logos that are technically primary logos should not win because they are truely not secondary logos. Am I right, or am I gonna get bashed for this?
Colorado, Vancouver, and Pheonix.... all three have two very fine logos to choose from. Difficult decisions for all three.
Dunno why but I always thought this was on the shoulder of the SENS jersey. Shame that its not, could give the O some competition.
Also, it always bugged me that SJ put the full shark on the shoulder of the home/away rather than this.
I agree SharkFan 100%
I also agree with Sharksfan
As I said before guys, I know including the shoulder logos that are also primary logos wouldn't be popular, but that's why you vote. Only one primary logo is actually leading its poll, and it's still early on. But when I start deciding to make exceptions in these tournaments is where we often run into trouble. You guys vote. If you don't think primary logos should be included, don't vote for them.
what happened to the former teams logo competition with the whalers etc?
all i got to say is that i like all of the logos except the Florida one with the sun and the fla it looks really.... horrible
Nooj, those were just a set of bonus standalone polls for that week. It wasn't a tournament. We'll do a full tournament of vintage logos in the future.
Of all of these...I'm torn between like the Coyotes and Preds Alt Jersey logos. Carolina, Florida and Atlanta need something different (not for this poll, but in general).
If I had to put money on an overall winner...Johnny Canuck is hard to pick against.
The foot is a thousand times better than the 'A'... The vancouver alternate with the johnny V is awesome. Thats one of my favs. Diidn't vote for either of the Phoenix patches as both are pathetic and so is the franchise. The Dallas stars alternate logo is a classic. Too bad they dont have nice jerseys to go along with it. I wish the Leafs patch was qualified for this as it is probably the best. I also wish the Oilers still had the "Rigger Patch".. That was a gangster patch as well.
I agree with Sharkfan... The logos that are the actual primaries should not win because it takes no creativity to just put the primary on the shoulder. None of them should advance past this round. Teams should be more creative than that. C'MON MAN!
I agree with Chris putting primary logos that appear as shoulder patches in the poll. I just hope none of them win.
I see Chicago and Vancouver going far in this. I personally love the Johnny Canuck logo (both full bodied, and the V-head), and I'd love to see either on a green sweater.
I don't get it.
What's so good about a crossed palm tree and hockey stick?
In my opinion, that logo is probably the worst in the NHL.
Could someone please explain how it is beating the "sunny FLA"?
just noticed the checkers in the back of the preds logo...even better
T Bay alt. won't go far
should i vote for the best logo, or what looks best on a shoulder. ex: B is a great logo, but the bear fits on a shoulder nicer.
I love how this tournament began on the EXACT SAME day as the Leafs released their new sweater, and the shoulder patch couldn't be in this tournament. It is BY FAR the best one. All of these look so cheesy, with the exception of the Chicago one.
Yeah Chris the Boston Bruins logo is winning and you should have just taken the actual alternate. Is the Bear better? No, but it shouldn't be in a SECONDARY LOGO tournament, because it isn't a secondary logo. It's like if Bush ran in 2008, and when people complain the excuse would be "if you don't like it don't vote for him" and then he won. Does that make it OK that he won an election he shouldn't have been in?
JackFr, I appreciate your comment and I think this is a good chance to re-explain some things. This is not a tournament of "alternate" logos or even "secondary" logos necessarily. As I explained in the format, what we really should be saying is "shoulder logos" more than anything. If it's on the shoulder of one of the uniforms, it's in this competition. Bottom line.
All right, now here's where your argument falls down. For Bush to have been in the 2008 election, it would've required some heavy lifting. Look up the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution for term limits. So... anyway.
It warms my heart to see the stick-in-rink logo losing. Although, if I were ever to vote for that logo, it would be as a shoulder patch.
Nice to see Johnny Canuck doing so well. Hopefully we'll be able to include him in the Primary Logo Tournament soon.
I like the dark grey canes logo, I think it's really unique
