A nice few sets to choose from but I would have to say keep the Current set.
It is quite sharp and the subtlety is great, although Ive always despised the secondary logo ironically haha.. But if Peacock (Great simplicity and love the colours!) or McElroy (Very patriotic and effective) won, I would be okay with it.
The Matt McElroy Snipers set is just an amazing evolution of the current Sharpshooters set. I really like how the alternate logo is setup for home and road versions.
Matt, you may have a couple of logos in this league.
I love the original logo, and see no reason to change it, but I really like Matt's stuff here.
I almost want to mix and match here.....
Match the blue and red pantones, add a bit of shading to Dave's primary logo, then use Matt's primary as the secondary/shoulder patch. Matt's secondary could be combined into the wordmark, and also act as a design element on the sleeves of the jersey.
Anyone else seeing that as a possibility? Or am I off base on this one?
The original by Dave is excellent, and his secondary is subtle but brilliant with the SS broken netting. But I see it more as a pant logo then as a shoulder patch. Curious to see the wordmark, if it will change at all with ̶S̶a̶s̶k̶a̶t̶o̶o̶n̶ Saskatchewan in place. Speaking of workmarks, Adam's is my favorite with the hockey stick/sniper gun combo. I've always liked team names with character in them. His secondary with the province in pixel camo is pretty cool too, and the colors fit in with our farming & terrain. Liam's is pretty basic, although the colors again are fitting for SK. Matt's concept is great & patriotic but something about Dave's original & simplistic and subtle design in both the symbols & colors has my vote. Bummed Sask only had 5 designs while others have had many more; personal investment in my home province.
As I'm a little busy at the moment, I'll have more detailed thoughts on each team, but for now, here's my two cents on the Snipers.
Sasketchewan's logos are a two-horse race between Dave Delisle and Matt McElroy.
Delisle's look is such a smart usage of the faceoff circle and I enjoy the set as a whole. It strays away from the military theme and it works really well.
While McElroy's look is a nice evolution, the primary mark is too busy to me, as the shield, maple leaf (which looks too much like Winnipeg's leaf to me), slogan and faceoff circle combine to make a too busy-looking logo. It feels like some of those elements could be lost. Otherwise, I like the military references without being overtly bashed in the head with them.
Just five logos. I can pick good thing on all. Adam's scope on a stick is clever. Ryan's simple outline and shadow.
But I really like Dave's current ones - using as little gun/violence symbols as possible.
Sadly, the word SNIPERS just looks ugly. Nothing a fan/family can get behind.
Can someone explain to me what Ryan's primary is supposed to be? I just don't get it.
Dave's primary is brilliant in its simplicity. Matt's set is good, but like others have said, his primary is a little too busy.
Not a fan of the other two, of the colors or Adam's camo theme.
I agree with the other sentiments that Matt's set is a nice evolution of Dave's original, but is too busy in the primary. Matt could lose the leaf in that logo and it would not take away from it at all and there is something to be said about the successful simplicity of Dave's logo. Matt's secondaries are just awesome along with the wordmark so I feel the same way as Rob and wish Dave's and Matt's could be merged.
The IceHL is running the risk of following the new WPG Jets and other teams trend where the maple leaf has to be included in the crest of any team based in Canada. I think we should be more mindful of it and not overuse this icon.

Ryan's primary would appear to be a stylized version of the province of Saskatchewan. I think the scope is supposed to be targeting Saskatoon. (But seems to be closer to hitting Humboldt.) The two dots should be missed shots seeing similar hits are on the word mark. The left one should hit about Cree Lake, the right should be about the middle of nowhere.
I'd like McElroy's a lot more without the slogan. The rest is brilliant, but I dont like slogans in logos, and its currently too busy. That said, no matter what happens to it the Current one needs to stay.
