0247: The Retro Whale

As we embark on another week without NHL hockey, I thought I'd turn the Concepts page's attention to the AHL this week. Plus, we haven't done a theme week in a while. Today, we get a couple of looks for the Connecticut Whale, starting with this Hartford-inspired throwback set from Trevor Richards.
But since I don't see the Whale changing their logo anytime soon, what about this one from Scott Markiewicz?

I'm from CT was a fan of the whalers when I was a kid then the wolf pack came and I was a fan and still am but almost anything is better than the Whales current set.
Oh, God, I hate the Whale's ridiculous logo (not Trevor Richards's concept; the one chosen by the team's God-forsaken ownership).
I don't mind that last concept but it's too close to Vancouver's jerseys to be practical. More silver would help distinguish it more. Not bad though.
Not a fan of the first two, but the bottom one is too sweet!
For my concept, I was trying to merge the Rangers (striping), Whale (colors) and the Whale's former name, the Wolf Pack (shoulder yoke stripes) together to unify the teams past, present and the players future. I do see what you're getting at with it looking like a Vancouver jersey but I don't think gray works with the Whale's color pallet.
@ Mike L. I'm from CT too!
