0045: Remaking Rochester in Buffalo's Image

Minor League Week proceeds with another AHL franchise, one not so much in need of a rebrand. The Rochester Americans were hit hard by their league's switch the Reebok Edge uniforms, but it wasn't long before the problems were rectified. So that's not what this concept is about. Instead, Chris Wright demonstrates what the Amerks might look like if they wanted to look more like their NHL parent club, the Sabres, with which they were recently reunited. It's probably more of a lateral move than anything, but it's an interesting notion. Anyone else want to take a stab at redesigning AHL team sweaters to match their NHL affiliates?

I like the light Jersey better than the dark cause the dark jerseys don't have enough white around the logo. It has potential if fixed though.
If the Amerks didn't already have great jerseys, these would be a great direction for them. However, Rochester already has a great sweater. That being said, I do really like the 3rd, although I'd rather see the number left off the front, and the stars back on the shoulders.
Someone should rebranded the providence bruins to look like their NHL affiliates from Boston. Tall task
Charlotte Checkers!!! Oh wait...
As an avid A.H.L. fan... I'm REALLY up in the air about this one. While I believe that the Rochester Americans shouldn't be tampered with - it's like messing with the Red Wings or Canadiens, I actually really like this. Enough was done to say "hmm, this is different", but it's not as much as the Fishermen that is infamous in Isles' history. I would like to see someone get to the Worcester Sharks, because their logos and uniforms are terrible.
What would be scary is if someone rebranded a la Syracuse Crunch (just changing the colors and the jerseys) the Rosemont, er, Chicago Wolves to match their parent club, the Vancouver Canucks.
These are definitely not an improvement on what the Amerks are already wearing. I grew up in Rochester and the Amerks are one club that shouldn't be tampered with all that much when it comes to uniform design. They had a rough stretch with the initial switch to Edge jerseys, but things are better now thankfully.
What's funny is that I sent these here a while ago (near the start of the season, if I remember correctly), but the Amerks actually did wear an alternate jersey for one night recently based on the Sabres' 40th jerseys:

Other than the colors, it's almost exactly the same. The other noticeable difference is the stars. I made these to be exactly like the Sabres' jerseys, but any Amerks jersey that I would actually make would have stars, too. They'd go on the yoke of the home/aways, and on the sleeves like they are on the actual alternate.
