0203: Winter in the Midwest

Got a couple of items to share on this Winter Classic Weekend, but we're looking beyond 2013 for this one. If recent history is any indication, the Blackhawks will soon find themselves back in the outdoor spotlight, and when they do, Wade Hermann suggests they sport something like what we see above.
As a bonus, we have this update to a Blues concept posted last month. Chance Waddell originally designed a blue one but has since added a vintage white version to match.

Those two Blues concepts may be the two best concepts on this website. Love them.
The designs themselves look fine, however, it seems that Winter Classic jersey ideas are all about the stripes. Personally, I believe that a multitude of stripes take away from a good looking uniform. It would be interesting, if the St-Louis sweater would have arches on the sleeves rather than stripes, from the bottom of the sleeve, to surround the numbers on top.
Should St-Louis play in a Winter Classic game, they may decide to pay tribute to the 1930's era team, the Eagles. The unofficial NHL uniforms site displays their sweater, one without stripes.
Not sold on the Blackhawks jersey. It may be historical but I think it just looks the same as any other winter classic attempt. The Blues jersey, however, looks the goods (despite the similarity with all the other classic ideas!) Its the colour scheme that really grabs me.
