Freak Out Friday XLV

Friday is here again and you know what that means. Time to freak out!

I'm really trying to get back into the habit of having a Freak Out Friday for you guys every now and then. Of course it relies primarily on your submissions. So keep them coming!

This week's theme is Original Six. Just how horrible can we make these most legendary of teams look? The answers to that question ensue.

I don't mean to always be picking on the Blackhawks, but I think we can all agree that gravity-defying feathers are not the way to go. Not by a long shot.

Even the colors have me a little concerned. Maybe we should just move on.

Charles Cadieux

Nope, shouldn't have moved on. Adding black to the Rangers color scheme. Now that's something I never thought I'd see. And obviously I hope I never have to. Hockey fans everywhere would revolt!

But since it is only fake, we can all rest easy. The tricky part will be removing it from your memory.

The Maple Leafs were the focus of the previous concept post and we had a lot of really nice artwork. Now it all goes out the window because this just beats everything. I mean, it's a Maple Leafs jersey covered in actual maple leaves!

Wonder why we've never seen a third jersey that looks like that.

In closing, all I'll say is I hope you are not bleeding from the eyes. More concept art (the good stuff) this weekend.

Having leaves on the ground is fitting. Every team stomps on the Leafs. Hopefully the Canucks do that on Saturday.

GO CANUCKS GO!

I wasn't as freaked out by this one as I have ones past, but still kinda... weird.

But hey, if the Blues almost went out on the ice, trumpets and all (thanks, Mike Keenan), for all we know, that Leafs jersey has already been made.

I think that Leafs jersey can be called "Canadian Camo"

The rangers w/ black could work if they just replaced the red with black so it was blue black and white as a color scheme

You think you could've warned me before showing that Rangers concept, now I have to wipe coffee off my keyboard.

The rangers jersey isn't that bad!...

That Leafs uni is pretty awesomely bad...so bad that its actually kind of good...some how

The Rangers white is a decent design overall, but the colour scheme is bitten directly from Tampa. Is this supposed to be some subtle way to lure Lecavalier to NY?

I think the Leaf's uni needs brown shorts, to make it look like a tree trunk or green as someone else suggest as the Leaf's are constantly stomped on. Then it would make the whole concept work.

I actually like the rangers whites, provided you change the red in the logo to black.

Should the Rangers every even consider them? Never in a million years. But they would be a great looking jersey for a men's league team or something along those lines. But the pattern looks great in Blue and black (and any other two colors I would imagine- it's simply a genius layout), the numbers are really neat, and the logo compliments it well.

And the leafs uni looks like it was made by Don Cherry's suit method- going to a fabric store and finding a drapery fabric that catches your eye. Somewhat fitting I guess, but still looks horrendous.

Oh, and yes, that's really how Cherry gets his suits. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFPuMzza9hk

Oh, that was supposed to be "ever", not "every".
