0065: Edmonton's Oil Barons

Earlier this month we got a look at what certain minor league teams would look like if they were modeled after their NHL affiliate. Today is kind of the reverse of that. What if the Edmonton Oilers looked a little more like the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons? Tim Pearce provides the answer.

Cool design, but I feel like Edmonton fans just want people to leave their jerseys alone now that they've gotten the ship back on the right course. Like I said though, I like the design...as much for the actual layout as for the logo.

With some polishing this could make an awesome shoulder patch.

As is, it looks like an oil rig, emitting the beacon from the Islanders lighthouse shoulder patch, on top of a steak.
Alberta beef is good, but not good enough to be featured in a secondary mark for the Oilers.

Lots of potential here, all this really needs is some simplification.

Use it as an alternate.

Bad Oilers jersey, Great Barons Jersey.

Take the Barons current logo, colour it using the current Oilers colour scheme, and put it on this jersey and that is a respectable OKC Barons jersey. It feels more like a minor league jersey.

I would wrap the rest of the bottom striping around though.
