0066: D.C.'s Stars and Stripes
Many fans have been eager to see the Washington Capitals add a blue third jersey for a few years now. Not sure this is what we had in mind. Brian Brideau, using an old logo filed with the U.S. Trademark Office, put together this set of stars and stripes for us.

logo's weak but the concept is strong, both team history and location are well represented
I do not necessarily dislike the jersey, but the logo is really ugly. Brian is definitely on to something here, as the stars and stripes are cool, but replace that with a washington script logo or the eagle with the capitol building. This logo kind of ruins the jersey.
The logo is horrid, the jersey's design is awesome especially with the red pants. I would go with less stripes or stars on the sleeves though. Having the sleeve # on top of the stripes looks lousy.
Put the 'Weagle' logo on there and change the sleeves and I would buy this in a heartbeat.
Great jersey concept, terrible logo. Very close to being very good, maybe using the weagle instead would put it over the top.
I know it's not Brian's creation, but does anyone care to explain that logo? It just looks like a mess to me.
If the logo was nicer, I'd give it 5 stars.
If George Washington knocked up Betsy Ross, this would be the outcome.
Not a fan of the logo either but the rest of the jersey is very cool, implementing iconic american details (stars and stripes). I must mention the royal blue helmet/jersey/socks with red pants is very NYR but I also remember a friend of mine recently commenting on how patriotic the rangers unis are.
Also just noticed that you have 14 red and white stripes going from arms, waist, to socks. knock off one of them and you've got 13. also, i wish those arm numbers could be better placed, maybe take out 1 or 2 stars and stick it there.
I think it's a cool concept, but still needs some tweaking. I love the concept of a stars and stripes blue jersey, but it needs the Weagle on the front. Also, and this is a minor detail, all red/white striping should start and end with red, like on the US flag (in other words, add a red stripe to the top of the waist striping (below the stars) and to the top of the arm striping).
OR, and this would be pretty cool IMHO, remove the top white stripes from the arms and add a white stripe below the red waist stripe. That would give the jersey itself 13 stripes - 7 red, 6 white - just like on the US flag. The jersey already has 7 red stripes but currently has 8 white stripes. Keep the waist stars, whatever changes would be made.
Love the concept, it just needs a finishing touch or two to be game-ready.
Change the logo to eagle from the black blue and brown days and you got a winner!
I totally agree with Indo. And I love the stripes on the sleeves.
Use the W alternate logo already on the jersey or bring back the capitol building from the black jersey and recolor it. The numbers over the stripes may be too busy to see.
