0089: Vintage Blackhawks

Recently, Micah Loyed's work was the subject of a concepts series called Vintage Week. Afterward, he wanted to throw in one more idea. This is what he put together for the Blackhawks. I really do like the simplified crest design.

I like it for its design style. Very sharp, clean and bold. Obviously hawks fans are used to the normal setup, but this is really well done!

I think the logo is FANTASTIC!!!!! The jersey is not bad either. A bit boring for my taste, but I really like the new logo. It is streamlined and modern while staying relatively close to the original. I know fans love their logo, but It looks like a mess. Too much going on. This one is true to the current while providing something new. He looks more fierce too. Better than the happy grinning one.

I'm not sure if I get the secondary on here. Why a double "C"? The current secondary "tomahawk" logo would still work well, especially if given a polish. I do like how the double "C" is incorporated in the primary, however.

The primary logo redesign is great. It still resembles the previous logo without being a carbon copy or gone in a crazy direction. The secondary logo doesn't really work all that well in my opinion. No connection to the team brand besides being the earring in the primary logo. Does anyone know what the function of the dual C's is?

not terrible but...hows it vintage?

Chalk me up as someone else who doesn't get the double-C thing. The shoulder patches look really oversized as well, for such a design.

My one critique is that I don't particularly care for the way the bottom black stripe on the white jersey forms the bottom of the whole jersey - though it might not look as bad in full gear with the black pants... still, it just goes to show how damn annoying that Edge tail cut is.

Still, it's a very strong effort, and I like the refreshing of the portrait.

That's awesome! Great work. If the Blackhawks didn't already have a solid identity, that would work nicely.
However I also agree on the shoulder patches, they seem redundant, love the CC as the ear ring on the main crest tho!

Honestly, the only thing vintage about this is that it is a lace up jersey.

Agree with Double B on this one. Wish the Tomahawk logo could have been kept but it gives the Blackhawks logo a much more edgier and updated feel. Hardcore Blackhawks fans might not like it but it would make a decent Rbk Edge alternate.

This isn't bad at all, but a large majority of Blackhawk fans would flip out if they're traditional logo was replaced with this. Believe it!
