0123: Australian Football Meets Hockey
Wednesday · Jun 20 · 2012 | 9:00 AM PDT 6 Comments
As promised, No-Hockey Week continues today with the sport of football. But it isn't the American gridiron these teams play on. Duncan Lyle has designed hockey jerseys for members of the Australian football league. Above, it's the Geelong Cats, and below, the Fremantle Dockers.
You'll note Duncan has included the teams' existing uniforms to compare to his hockey sweaters. By the way, there's more where this came from. Duncan actually designed jerseys for nine AFL teams and if you guys are interested in seeing the rest, I'd be happy to get them on the site in the future.

How about a full 9 jersey post?
High five, Duncan. As soon as I heard Icethetics was doing a non-hockey hockey jersey week, this is what I thought of. I think the lowered V striping on the Dockers jersey is great. Have you tackled the Crows yet, or should I get onto it myself?
Keep them coming. My 2 most favorite sports combined. Fantastic
Thanks for the kind words and fairly positive votes, all! And thanks to Chris for the feature!
I actually have concepts for all 18 teams, but only emailed Chris what I considered my top 9, at least to begin with; some of the others I think are still on the weaker side and definitely need some more work. So to answer your question, Peregrine, I do have a Crows concept made, though it's not one I've sent to Chris just yet. But of course you can go right ahead and make your own, too!
My two favorite sports as well, Pantherdazz! It's always refreshing to hear from other Aussie rules fans, as few and far between as we are outside of Australia. If the sport got more exposure, I'm sure most hockey fans would find themselves loving footie too, between the lightning-fast pace, the crushing hits, and the unbelievable athleticism.
I'm actually a big Geelong fan, so imagine my surprise to see the top one!
Very well done.
They are indeed very nice. I'd be interested to see Hawthorn or GWS - they have some pretty good color schemes...
