0163: Ottawa, Bring Back the Black

The Ottawa Senators reintroduced black jerseys this season with their new Heritage Uniform (designed by Jacob Barrette). But I'm among those still longing for those great black roads from the '90s. Anyone else think Brendan Anderson's take could work well as a home sweater in the Reebok era? Come on, Senators, you know you want to!

I accidentally hit four stars instead of five. My bad. Anyways, these are brilliant. Love love love that logo. These, with the current thirds and a white to match this one would be perfect. So so perfect. Also, I want to see the company logo on the gloves done in gold.

I'm liking the overall design, but I just think it could use a bit more gold just to cut down on the prominence of the the colour black. And no matter how many times I see it, I still do not like the newer, sideways facing Sens logo. Call me old-fashioned, but I still think the primary, sideways facing logo from the pre-RBK redesign is far and away superior.

I almost don't want to give this a 5 star rating because there really isn't much in the way of original thought here, but that's only because it makes so much sense. The Senators should have been wearing this years ago.

Looks amazing. I don't find many Ottawa concepts with the laurel leaves that looks good, but this is definitely one of the best I've seen. If the white stroke around the logo was carried throughout, this would be a perfect concept.

I really wish they would go back to this logo. The only issue I have is not filling in the sock striping with the gold arrow patterns.

I love it, one thing I would change though is switching to a lighter shade of gold

Incorporate a road white version of this jersey, and I'm sold. I still like the Heritage jersey better when it comes to the black, but I can see this as a home jersey in the future.

I like the aesthetic, but this would only work as a third jersey. Way too much black.

Then again, it could be cool, cause no other team does that. But I don't know if the Sens could pull it off.

Can someone send this concept to Eugene Melnyk? Please! This is the best dark Sens jersey I've seen since the black and red from their first season. They have to go back to this logo, it's just too classic. Ditch red as a primary colour and go back to black. I'd buy these in a heartbeat!
