0170: What If Nike Made a Pens Jersey?
That's kind of a preposterous question. For one thing, Reebok would never go for it. But moreover, this isn't what would happen if Nike designed the jersey. It's what happened when Matt McElroy designed one on a Nike template. I have to be honest. I love the color combination here and I think this would make for a really cool third jersey. But it sounds like most Pens fans here are tired of blue alternates.

Sorta reminds me of the Pittsburgh Hornets' jersey. It's alright i guess.
For the love of God PLEASE stop with the blue uniforms for my Pens!! It's bad enough we have to deal with those blue 60's/70's Frankenstein mish mash uniforms for another year! Can someone do a concept using the '91/'92 uniforms (use the vegas gold if you want but please NO blue)
Not that it matters because we know what it should have been but one of the sleeves has grey instead of white (we know it should it be white).
lettuce be reality here, Nike has the best uniform design in sports. the Reebok NHL uniforms are the same templates duplicated across the league. pretty boring, really.
It's very well done however if Nike were to ever re brand the NHL I really hope they don't overly modernize them to much, we already saw how horrible the RBK edge jerseys were. As for this jersey I don't like it for the pens, the design doesn't work and I'm sick of the blue as well.

Tyler's comment is my favorite hahaha. As someone who isn't real a pens fan can people help me understand why you guys don't like the blue? I mean Yellow and blue is such a good combo and I get that a lot of teams have blue 3rds right now but like if you took those all away the pens in blue and yellow would be pretty cool in my opinion.
@ Matt Mc, Pittsburgh is the only city in which all professional (Pens, Steelers, Pirates) sports teams don the citys colors of Black and Gold. Personally, I wish the Pens would go back to the Yellow Gold but....... Went to my 1st Pens game in '80 (Jan. of '80 they switched from Blue/White to Black/Yellow Gold, despite protest from the Bruins, Pens were allowed to wear Black/Yellow Gold due to the fact that the Pittsburgh Pirates Hockey Club, NHL circa 1924-1930 wore black/yellow gold uniforms WHILE in that same time frame the Bruins wore brown/yellow gold) Black/Gold are the only colors I have ever known the Pens to be. Yes, I understand the history of the the Pens '08 WC uniform (it took awhile but it grew on me) BUT I have no love for the current 3rd (this will never grow on me...lol) the 60's/70's mish mash Frankenstein blue uniform.
I don't hate this set , but I agree with most Pens fans that the Blue needs to die. My personal favorite was the Pens uniforms of the 80's when they would incorporate the yellow helmet.
